LONG POST ALERT My mother, sister, and I had an event to attend at 7pm. We thought we lucked up by getting a same-day appointment for all 3 us at 1:30pm for mani-pedis, as our usual nail salon was booked up on this particular Saturday. We get there and after a 10 minute wait, were told to go to the pedicure area. My elderly mother and I like basic polish, so we asked for a full set and just polish. My younger sister had an hombre fill-in and shellac for her toes. Since my sister's amount was obviously the highest, they chose to test her first. She was done with her entire treatment before anyone had even started my pedicure. By this time, my mom had been "drying" her toenails for about a half hour. An elderly man FINALLY asked her how she wanted her nails as I was leaving the pedicure area. She told him a full set with polish. He doesn't speak English well, so he insisted on powder for an overlay. I told him that she wants a full set with acrylic nails and polish. He nodded as if he understood. Ten minutes later, my mom called me over because he wouldn't answer her questions. He gave her an overlay and wouldn't add nails. 🙄 I told him that wasn't what she wanted. He got visibly upset and started yelling in a different language, drawing attention from everyone there. Customers overheard and told the manager, Tommy, what we wanted. He said he understood and told us he would fix it personally. He didn't say it would still take another 30 minutes for us to be helped. While waiting for Tommy, a Caucasian lady was able to get her full set with acrylic nails from the older man just fine, which absolutely disgusted my mother and I and a regular customer that witnessed the whole thing. I hated the way we were treated. I hated that nobody apologized. I hated that the other manager, Tommy's wife Diane, kept making excuses for everyone's behavior. I hated that 75% of the staff couldn't even understand our complaints. I hated that we spent 4 HOURS there for something that should've taken an hour. I can't say enough about this horrible experience! I paid for my mother and my treatments. $150 for rudeness, disrespect, mismanagement of time, pettiness, and amateur polishing? How dare they! No mention of a discount for our inconvenience? Not even a simple apology! And, as my nails were drying, I looked around and noticed the plastic guards on the counters have never been cleaned and the carpet was absolutely disgusting in the nail area. How upsetting! Oh, there's one good thing about this place...I asked for water when I started getting upset and at least we got free bottles of water. Or, maybe they were included in the $152 bill ($2 when using a credit...
Read moreI had a mani/pedi at Allure Spa and Nails a couple of weeks ago. My nails are okay. The experience was very strange and the reason for my low rating. A woman greeted me and did my pedicure first. She did a good job. We then shifted to a table for my manicure. Within 3 minutes another man working at the salon approached the table. The woman doing my nails picked up her stuff and moved to the counter, the man picked up my stuff and moved it. The woman explained she didn't have a table. The man started doing another woman's nails (there were at least 7 other open tables). She continued my nails at the counter. The nail polish was poor quality (runny and very different than the color on the bottle). She removed the color from the couple nails she had done. I truly felt badly for her and hadn't complained about the weird color at all. I went to pick a new color. When I returned another manicurist had "claimed" my business. I was then shuffled to his table where he polished my nails. His demeanor was odd. It was truly a very weird and uncomfortable situation. He spent about 10 minutes with me polishing and then presented me with the bill. The woman came back and explained she didn't have table. It was so weird. I don't know what business owner feels this is a good customer experience. I should have been left with the original manicurist at one table and not shuffled. I will not go back and hope the woman manicurist finds a better more customer focused salon as she did a great job and was delightful...
Read moreThe technician used the speed drill to remove my shellac polish. Found two nails with signs of lift. Instead of cutting back the lift and smoothing it out to apply acrylic, he uses a plastic nail tip to pry off the two lifted nails. I snatched my hand back several times and told him he was hurting me and he continued. He ended up tearing a piece of my natural nail away from my nail bed and it began bleeding. He then tried to soak it off with acetone while I was still bleeding and file it with the speed drill. That made it bleed more.. I asked him for the manager, he didn't get him. Eventually, another technician came over and removed the rest of the acrylic tip and part of my natural nail in the process. The other technician told me that it would take two days to heal and I could come back and they'd apply a tip. Then, my technician continued with my fill in. By the end, he knicked my right thumb's cuticle and started it to bleed, now I have two bleeds fingers. At that point, I told him I didn't want polish just consider us through. He proceeded to ask me to pay him after he left me bleeding on both hands. The manager finally got involved and tells me it was an accident, then when I showed him my hands and asked if this is what he considers an accident he tells me that the guy told him I made my finger bleed. I told him he tore my skin using a nail tip to pry off my nails instead of soaking it off. Eventually, we settled on a VERY small fee. DO NOT USE...
