The Bev (formerly Michigan Beer Growler Company) — Restaurant in Southfield Township

I lived in the area a decade ago and was just recently back. I wish they had something this cool when I lived nearby! It's a very intimate vibe but still feels like a place to be. The patio is nothing more than some chairs on the sidewalk but it has a great view of the pet shop next door so we loved dogwatching with a couple brews.

As for the nain event: Beer... They have full descriptions of most of their taps on each table which my beer rookie buddy GREATLY appreciated. They still had the classic hipster microbrewery chalkboard on the wall for veteran drinkers. From what I could tell, they didn't have a fully local selection but there were certainly plenty of Michigan beers and ciders to choose from.

Unfortunately not a good visit for us. The location was good and the service was nice so this place has potential for us. We ordered 15 meowlers online and paid for our order the night before. We set our pickup time at 11:30am, 30 minutes after open time. Our order was not started when we arrived, so we had to wait about 20 minutes. That would have been ok if the rest went well. The pour on the bottles was all over the place and not full on many bottles. The packaging was not done well and now we have 15 flat pints only by the evening. This ended up being a big waste of money and time for us. We have picked up beer from several breweries and never had this experience with such poor handling of brews....

I would think twice before doing business with this company. I've been a bartender for three years now and had the misfortune of interacting with Brian (one of the owners) one night. I've truly never experienced a more cold and cruel person in my life (not just at work). Sure, I'm "just" a bartender, but I believe the true character of a person can be discovered in the way they treat someone who can do nothing for them. Despite prompt, polite service on my end, he made me and my coworkers feel like tiny, less-than human creatures.
