Hello,
I recently visited a Home Depot in South Southington CT. I have been a lifelong shopper at Home Depot and was very disappointed with my recent experience at this location. I was shocked to see multiple employees and customers not wearing masks. There are signs at the entrance reporting a face covering must be worn but several employees either had the masks around their neck or no face covering in sight at all. In addition, multiple customers were allowed to enter with no face coverings.
This is bad enough but then I called to let a store manager know - I spoke with “manager” Crystal at approximately 1130 am on Sunday 8/30/20 and let her know what I witnessed. Instead of thanking me or acknowledging she will work on improvements she stated “well we can’t require people to wear masks” and then she HUNG UP the phone on me. I do understand this is a challenging time for all and it is hard to control other people however I do expect store employees to be wearing masks at all time when serving customers and I do expect employees to be able to enforce the rules posted on the doors.
As a physician seeing COVID patients on a daily basis I can guarantee that masks save lives - both customers and healthcare workers who have to care for victims of this pandemic.
I unfortunately will NOT be returning to your stores until I can be assured your employees and managers are able to abide by rules set forward by the CT health department. This is such a loss for me as I have been making 1-2 stops by Home Depot weekly as I am doing major renovations at my home currently, the local LOWES is farther from me but will have to suffice until you guys can ensure me a safe...
Read moreOn Saturday Sept. 8 my wife and I spent over 2 hrs at this Home Depot location. We thought we had gotten a good deal on making a major purchase. Opening a Home Depot Card that day of a purchase more than a one thousand allowing for a $100 discount! We purchased a new refrigerator, convection oven along with a new washer and dryer. The items were on sale and we paid over $2,200 on a debit card. We arranged for a delivery on Saturday September 21 (any time). Thursday Sept. 19 Delivery services called to let us know our time for Sat. was 10-2 pm (no problem). We get home Friday and our answering (2:39 pm time) stating. Stating apologies an unforeseen hold up held our delivery until OCTOBER 1st. My wife and I went down to store to get a refund. I admit I DID NOT listen. I went to make a statement and the clerk (Joan) turned around and was walking away while talking to me. So I started to raise my voice to be heard. She immediately stopped and said there was no need to yell( raising my voice to be heard is yelling not to mention someone turning their back to you not on film ? would love if volume was available. I realized she was agreeing in that we were entitled to a refund as she turned her back to go to another register. Again this is all on film. Joan was then RUDE to my wife who was asking a question about the order. I had to grab by both shoulders to tell her the order was cancelled. She was not happy but happy just to get home. I was NOT HAPPY with WAITING 72 hours. My question is this. Why are we waiting over 72 hours for what was taken out of our bank account on September 8th. Lastly I would like to add that we will not visit this store...
Read moreUsually shop there for basic tools and supplies. Accepted the offer for a free carpet install over 699. Understood the 35 dollar fee for measuring they refused to take my measurements. They said the 35 would come off my bill. After measuring the quote came out to 75.65 yards of material and foam. The entire apartment is only 900 square feet maybe less and I only wanted 2 bedrooms and the stairs done. They refunded my material order after trying to haggle me down 200, then 300 dollars to keep the order. Refused to refund my 35 dollar measurement fee when it was clearly over estimated. Ended up going elsewhere. I ordered 54 yards of carpet the accurate measurement. Was left with 4-5 yards. They insisted they’re professionals and that this was a very accurate measurement but I could keep the extra carpet that I ordered. They over quoted me 22 yards of carpet and foam. Go elsewhere. Will also be sending this to the BBB. My rental apartment looks much better now. Without the extra 22 yards of foam and carpet that would have been left. Guess that’s where the free Install fee came in. Still saved over 600 dollars paying someone 500 dollars to do the...
