Disappointed with the new management at Massage Luxe
I’ve been a long-time customer at Massage Luxe and always had positive experiences under the previous management. I took a one-year break due to personal and family reasons, but I had purchased several gift cards over the years that worked really well for me in the past.
Recently, I called to book an appointment and was told that my gift cards were no longer valid. This was frustrating because the cards themselves don’t mention any expiration date, and there was nothing in their stated policy about them becoming invalid due to new management. After some back and forth, they agreed to honor two out of the three gift cards — not ideal, but I appreciated the partial resolution.
I booked a facial and was excited for a much-needed “me day,” something I hadn’t had in over a year. The aesthetician was very sweet, but I was surprised when what I expected to be a full facial turned into a 20-minute express service with a basic chemical peel. At no point was it clearly communicated that the facial would be significantly shortened. The peel itself was something I could’ve easily done at home for $80 — there was nothing special or pampering about the experience.
To make matters worse, the spa didn’t carry proper sunscreen. After a chemical peel, SPF is essential for skin protection, yet they only had an SPF 15 product that left a white cast (so I was advised to just not put any on) I was told I needed to wear sunscreen for 48 hours but wasn’t provided with any suitable options.
What’s most frustrating is the inconsistency. I was told three different things by three different staff members about whether or not my gift cards would be honored. It left me feeling like no one was on the same page — and worse, that they just didn’t care about preserving customer relationships.

I tried canceling the apt earlier today because I wanted a female massuse but the manager talked this guy up. She said he was the lead therapist and how great he was i should have stuck with my gut. I came in for horrible neck pains which i told him, I kid you not this guy massages ONE foot for 15 minutes before I tell him, hello I am over here suffering from neck pain please address that first. I had a 90 minute appointment with hot stones as well to make sure there was plenty of time to get the knots out. This guy was jerking me around and added MORE stress to my lower back. He raised and lowered the bed about 10 different times, he would just pinch my shoulders and jerk me around. Sounds relaxing right? I should have stopped the massage and made the guy leave, but i endured the whole thing. We ended and I still have stiffness in my neck to where I still cannot rotate it all the way. When i was checking out i told the girl how horrible my experience was ( in her defense she was just like a 16 yr old kid ) but she goes okay and will you be adding gratuity today. I will not be returning. Upon further investigation my mom had this massuse a year ago and has not returned because of her bad experience and a friend as well said the same thing. Read moreI'm actually wondering if these people giving 5 stars are getting paid 🤔 anyway my experience was less than great, I bought a package and I asked for it to be canceled and they didn't cancel it. I've had nothing but problems trying to get a hold of the owner to fix this issue among other things and for 2 weeks was told the owner wasn't in and she'd call me back. Never happened I finally threatened to come up there and complain in front of everyone and I got call back. The owner has always been kind though and accomidating and the place is really beautiful and the massage is pretty good which is why I left 3 stats instead of 1. The massage says 60 minutes which is actually only 50 so that's why I really wasn't pleased as well. It's a very generic massage, pleasant but not great. I've had much better. They never give you a receipt so I don't know what I was charged but I always left a cash tip so they better not had charged extra for that but the staff is always friendly. I wouldn't go back, it's too expensive for for what you get. Waste of money...
