Light, airy croissants glazed with sweet, flavorful icing and various toppings. “Cronuts” were tasty, but left a good amount to be desired, especially at more than $3 per.
“Donuts” off of Davis was closed, so we decided to give Parlor a try. Visited Parlor around 10:30am. No other customers were inside when we arrived. The young lady behind the counter greeted us warmly and was very polite. I inquired about the selection of doughnuts and was told that only the Keto and Vegan doughnuts had cake options. The variety isn’t overwhelming, yet seemed to be enough for anyone who likes pastries to enjoy. The coffee had a decent flavor but bordered on lukewarm. As far as croissants go, these were good; however, they weren’t $3+ good.
PROS: Tasty, fresh pastries with enough variety to satisfy most cravings. Friendly staff and convenient location.
CONS: Overpriced novelty fare. A large croissant with icing on it. The storefront was noticeably dirty. The windows were foggy and smudged, the tile floor desperately needed to be swept and mopped. Crumbs abounded in between the seat cushions of the sofa and on the surrounding floor. There were coffee and icing smears on the wall near where we ate. The bathrooms were also in need of some serious TLC. The mirror was dirty, the sink was dingy with soap scum and grime. The floors needed to be swept and mopped, and the “splash zone” of the commode deserved a little bleach.
Overall, I’d go back if someone else was buying, but I wouldn’t spend my own money. There are better options in and around Southlake for pastries/doughnuts. For the price of three “cronuts,” you could head to Central Market (or Tom Thumb) and get 5/6 fresh croissants and a small bag of confectioners sugar. A little milk/heavy cream, some vanilla or other flavoring, and a whisk and you’re icing! Also, when service is slow, it would only stand to benefit the business if idle hands picked up a broom, mop,...
Read moreThis has to be the greatest spot I have ever eaten a doughnut! I was introduced to it at work and ever since I tried it. It was amazingly delicious! I cried like a baby when I got off work late and it was closed I couldn’t even sleep, all I was thinking about was the amazing taste of it. I left work early on purpose just go get a delicious doughnut! The atmosphere was amazing. There was a lot of care put into this doughnut. Who would have ever thought to use croissant! I waited 24 hours to see how the doughnut would taste. After 7 seconds in the microwave it tasted just as fresh as if it were just handed to me. I will be going here often and will be sharing with my friends to come here. If you haven’t tried it. It will be very addicting and you wouldn’t want just one! Trust me. My favorite was the vanilla carnaval and the French toast one! Go there! The owners were very welcoming too! I can not wait for them to expand back home! They will generate heavy...
Read more5 stars across the board. If anyone deserves to be supported.. it’s this family. I brought my Mom here for her going away treat as she’s moving out of state, and so glad we spotted this location! From the moment we walked in, Kylie made us feel right at home. She double blessed us. As a new mother she was glowing, and was running the location along with her husband. It was so peaceful and clean. Owned by such a hospitable family. Then I realized.. years ago I went to a different location where there was an issue with my order (the staff was unhelpful) but fortunately Kylie noticed and came over to help.. she turned everything around and I never forgot her kindness. I didn’t realize it was the same person until right after I left today! I’m so glad she is now running her own Parlor in Southlake and I look forward to coming back. And there’s no doughnuts like Parlor. Huge, fluffy inside, crispy outside, delicious. Fun flavors that...
