ALL OF THESE CODES HAVE BEEN VIOLATED. THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE STORE OWNER LEADS TO CONTINUED POOR HEALTH CONDITIONS FOR MANY WHO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE AND FOR EMPLOYEES.
On one occasion, I walked into this establishment and thought for sure that I smelled bug spray. {I guess they haven't heard of using traps for resolving that sort of thing - managing and resolving issues related to pest control}.
It smells unclean or worse almost all the time. The floors were filthy when I went in. There's dirt and mop buckets out during opening hours, and the counters often smell excessively of bleach.
If it didn't smell of these sorts of things, it often smelled septic or of garbage.
I saw some bugs crawling out of a hole in the corner of a stand once - gnats, ants, centipedes, millipedes, and a mantis. I wondered if a kid studying biology could gather enough bugs for his or her school collection at that one establishment.
I also saw house flies, fruit flies, and box elder bugs.

Read moreThis is a small, quaint little store in downtown Spokane. Jenny and John are from South Korea and recently retired, but their nephew and another family 👪 member bought the store. They are so wonderful to their customers and if you are handicapped and in a motorized wheelchair they will get the groceries you need while you wait at the register. They go out of their way to help many residents living in affordable housing downtown. I'm nearing 70 years old and am adamant about supporting small businesses in my hometown and know the history of PM JACOYS. It's a blessing they are still here...
