We went here for the Jurassic Quest event. I paid over $100 for the tickets for entry and rides. The parking meters only allow 2 hours before you have to pay again. So we go out to feed the meter, and when we come back in, they attempt to give us a hard time. We (my 4 - and 6-year-old) went back inside to continue enjoying the dinosaurs. I asked (the people that attempted to give us a hard time), so what do you suggest we do in 2 hours when our meter expires? The response we got was "I don't know but we can't allow re-entry." So what's going to happen is really simple, when parking enforcement shows up and gives me a ticket, I will be forwarding the ticket to "Jurassic quest" and they (Jurassic Quest) will pay the ticket. With paying $100+ for entrance tickets, more money for the souvenirs, and even more money for the other stuff, just to be told "we will not allow re-entry" not even to pay the meters. This is beyond UNACCEPTABLE. We have been coming here for the past 3 times Jurassic Quest has been coming to Spokane. We've never had an issue with paying the meter in any of our prior experiences, and I fail to see what the issue is this time. I understand COVID is around this time, but it's ridiculous that even with being vaccinated AND having a negative test result, they are acting this way.
I'm REALLY hoping someone in management or equivalent will reach out and attempt to make this right as being treated this way is completely unacceptable, especially after spending close to $300 at this place. We have made coming to this place a "tradition" for our family. And it would really make the kids sad if this was our last time coming here due to a lack of response from somebody in management or organizers.
Then other part that really confuses me is, the Jurassic Quest event made it very clear that even with being vaccinated or a negative test result, masks were still required, however I saw at least 20 people NOT WEARING MASKS. And the organizers/securit did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about them NOT wearing masks, but are going to mess with people that are wearing masks, but have to feed the parking meters. Priorities are MASSIVELY...
Read moreNice and open space, plenty of room. We went to Jurassic quest here, and even with the life size dinosaurs there was plenty of space for all the people that were there, we were able to maintain distance from everyone while still being able to get close to the displays. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I'm a shy introvert and I found plenty of areas to retreat to and feel safe.
My only complaint is the bathrooms were really small, especially the family bathroom, there wasn't room for all of us plus a stroller to fit and we didn't want to leave it by its self outside. Would of been nice to have a area for breastfeeding too, my daughter brought her baby and finding a nice spot out of view was difficult. She didn't want to sit out in the center of all the people and like i mentioned the family bathroom was super small. Hopefully this changes in the future. We were not the only ones with breastfeeding space issues, we ran into a few other mothers trying to find a nice area to feed babies. I know you can breastfeed anywhere but at an event with so many kids running around it would of been nice to have a little tented area near the bathroom to just relax and be away from all the excitement and prying eyes of children, they can't help...
Read moreBeautiful views! BUT!! When I attended the last 2 conventions at The Convention Center I used a powered mobility chair... And couldn't get into the bathrooms because they were not powered doors. I also could only BARELY fit through the doors to ANY of the rooms, including the banquet rooms. This was in the rooms numbered 100s and 200s. Shocking, embarrassing and painful. Very disappointing. The elevators were so small that I had to do a 4 point turn including loudly bumping into the elevator walls. Unbelievable. These were the AMP convention and the UUGA. I heard similar reviews. At the UUGA I volunteered at the area where we distributed mobility scooters. Pretty embarrassing for we, the hosts, to explain that the buildings were only partially ADA compliant. It is additionally limiting that there isn't and free or lower-cost disability parking. One last huge dissapoinent. The catering, which touted being vegan friendly, had NO MAIN COURSES offered that were vegan, we had to ask multiple times for alternative milks, the "snacks" included a COMPLETELY CHOCOLATE BAR with no offering for vegans. The ingredients weren't even listed on the table tents of...
