I had a wonderful experience at the Springboro Parts Express yesterday. I live 45 minutes from there, but they always have the parts and electronics parts we are looking for. My mother is 96 years old, with dementia, and is living with me. She is bedridden and cannot see all the beautiful Christmas decorations in our house. I had brought to my house a small fiberoptic Christmas tree that she and Dad had used for years to put in her room. It had quit working Tuesday night, and I was hoping I could have it repaired for her. I took it to Gary at Parts Express and thought it would be a simple thing of replacing the power supply, which just plugs in. However, Gary checked it out, and the power plug was not the problem. He took it apart and found that it was just the quartz light bulb that had burned out. He was so kind and explained it all to me, where to get the bulb, and how to put it back together. He even carried the tree in and then back to my car. He told me to bring it back to have him put it back together if I couldn't do it. I did purchase the bulb, put it back together, and it happily brightened her room with Christmas cheer again last night. Gary went above and way beyond what we expect these days in customer service. I have told several techy people already today about the store and the heartwarming customer service I received from Gary. I thought that kind of thoughtful, caring customer service went away in the 1960s. A big thank you to Gary and Parts Express. It is worth the 45-minute drive when I need electronic supplies. ...
Read moreTerrible experience with Parts Express. Placed an order for a subwoofer and speaker box. 3 days later, I received the subwoofer, but there was no speaker box. Called Parts Express, and we see the box is still sitting at the OH USPS shipping facility. 5 days later, the box is still sitting at the USPS shipping facility and has not even been scanned in yet. So I tell them I know this isn't your fault but can you please send me out another speaker box, because I can almost guarantee you I'm never going to receive the speaker box and they tell me no, I have to wait another 3 days. Meanwhile I can't finish this project because Parts Express is to cheap to ship me out another $38 speaker box! I told them if i ever receive the first one, which I won't, that I have no problem sending it back, but no, apparently that is to much to ask. So eventhough the shipping lost package was not their fault, they are unwilling to accommodate me, after they told me they have been having multiple issues with USPS, but still can't just ship me another $38 box so I can finish this project. Read moreI’ve been purchasing my electronic parts, in particular, my speaker and audio equipment from Parts Express (“PE”) over the past year or so, and I have ultimately been very satisfied.
99% of the time the products were fully functional, well protected and packed for mailing/shipment, and frequently arrive a full day or two early to boot!
But we humans are flawed creatures and sometimes mistakes happen - I had one peculiar mishap with PE on an order northward of $300, where PE forgot to include in the shipment a very expensive speaker, but had labeled the item as shipped.
I contacted PE’s customer service department, explained the situation, which they promptly corrected.
So all in all, not only does PE follow through on providing quality products to its customers, they have fantastic customer service! On the rare occasion a mistake happens, it’s been my experience that they’re more than willing to work with you to arrive at a resolution.
