I do not usually give ratings/reviews (either positive or negative), but I felt the need to do so regarding my experience at the Barrel. On July 30th, my husband and I were passing through Ohio, on our way to Tennessee. After coming from Michigan, we decided to get dinner in Springboro. We read the reviews, they seemed favorable; and so we decided to select this restaurant. When we walked in, the atmosphere was cold. No one spoke, greeted us, or really even acknowledged our presence (except for the quick glances we would get-in their effort to not outright stare). We sat ourselves and waited for a server. Once we realized it had taken some time for someone to approach us, we simultaneously counted toward the 15 minute cutoff we would grant this establishment before leaving. After 15 minutes of not being served or even acknowledged-we left. No one tried to apologize for the wait or even stop us from leaving. Our business was of no significance to this establishment. We decided to take our Black money and our Black business elsewhere. If I could give the business less than one star…I most certainly would. This restaurant needs to learn the importance of hospitality...
Read moreMy experience at the Barrell has been second to none for food and entertainment. I go out of my way anytime I can to catch up with the people on both sides of the bar. The Barrell's team has gone above and beyond before, during, and after work if necessary to help anyone, anytime they can. During covid they hustled to help provide what social experience they could until everything opened back up. They suffer no fools but understand everyone has a bad day. They work hard and encourage everyone to have a great time. They do not claim to be perfect but they have always made a perfect attempt. For anyone that feels they have had a bad experience I encourage you to please come back. I would love to have a pile of wings, a large supreme pizza, drink some beer and tell lies until its time to leave. I'll be the extremely handsome black guy at the end of the bar closest to the kitchen. Just pull up a chair. Everyone have a safe,...
Read moreIf you’ve never had a fresh pizza from The Barrel, you are truly missing out. The crust is literally the perfect flavor and texture and I could probably eat it with no toppings lol. Also, for some reason, I had never had their wings until this point. Wow. It was like I was at uncle Jimmy’s 4th of July party when he’s been smoking wings in his $15k smoker that aunt Patt Patt got him for Christmas right before Covid hit. These were the first restaurant wings I have ever had that didn’t need any sauce. At all. And on a packed Friday night, we got amazing service and out pizza came out in about 15 minutes, and it was perfect. They had a live band as well. I wasn’t a huge fan of this particular band, but I hope the best for them. If only pizza places that delivered could figure out how to make pizza this good, we’d be in business. Until then, I’ll make the drive from Carlisle to Springboro...
