Planet Fitness — Local services in St. Clairsville

I have been a black card member for 7 years. I am beyond irritated that they are no longer a 24/7 club. I am definitely considering canceling my membership and joining a gym that is 24/7. However, my review is not just based on the hours being extremely inconvenient now but it is also in conjunction to the very unprofessional and unfriendly staff. MOST (not all) of the male staff are pretty friendly and say hello and goodbye. Almost NONE of the female staff are nice at all. I try to say hello or goodbye and they look away, or they are too busy playing on their phones and do not look up at me, or they just blatantly ignore me. They seriously need a reality check. That is so disrespectful and unprofessional. I am really extremely irritated. I have just about had it with this place. I am not happy at all. I have seen SEVERAL reviews saying that the St. Clairsville, OH planet fitness has unprofessional and unfriendly employees. Maybe management should do their job and look into this matter and take it seriously because otherwise alot of people will go elsewhere to work out. And i am likely going to be...

This Planet Fitness is easily a five out of five. Everything is nicely spaced out, and the equipment selection is genuinely impressive. Whoever planned the layout and picked the machines did an excellent job—eight Smith machines is a game changer. At most gyms, including many Planet Fitness locations, there never seem to be enough of them considering how popular they are. It’s always frustrating when you're stuck waiting around for a machine, but that’s not an issue here. The amount they have is genuinely appreciated.

They also have some equipment I’ve personally never seen at a Planet Fitness before. The Hammer Strength variety is great, and they even have a newer hack squat and an actual hip thrust machine. I don’t know if that’s rare for the chain overall, but it’s definitely the first time I’ve seen those here, and it really stood out.

The vibe is relaxed, everything is clean, and overall it just feels like a solid, well-run gym. Showers and bathrooms are clean too—no complaints there.

My friend and I called this place yesterday and they told us we can come in and get a black card membership if we were older than 16 WITH a parents consent. She explained everything about the black card membership to us and we made it very clear that we were under the age of 18. We used half a tank of gas to get here today, bringing our parents, we go in and are told we are not aloud to do this anymore and that you have to be 18 to legally tan in Ohio. This is not true because every other place I have been to will let me tan with a parents consent. Just wondering why they would mislead me and tell me that I could come all the way over here and waste a half tank of gas when we all could've been doing something else not wasting our time and money coming to this place.
