United Way of Greater Saint Louis — Local services in St. Louis

I’ve been calling this place for 3 days for help with a place for my 6 year old grandson and myself to stay . I did a call back and when someone calls me back I tell them all my information they say they are gonna transfer me just to hang up on me and this has literally been going on Allll day. I just need some help and I thought this was the place to call and now it’s 4:38 pm so now we are homeless another Day and I have been calling these people for 3 days. Like who else do I call and the people are rude and I was only getting information because I’m running out of options and need a little guidance on people that can help us . Apparently this place don’t no what it is or how it feels to be homeless . This is no way to treat people in need .This Is Day4 August 16th 2023 They said call at 7 but it doesn’t open til 9 I’ve been calling allll day for Diane, Dillian, Bernice Valerie Kevin Mesha and All these People to hand up on me when transferred then I gotta repeat the process . I probably need to speak to a Manager I didn’t no you get treated this way by calling in dire need or should I email the Governor to let him no how rude some of these folks that’s working for United Way . It’s like they really don’t want to talk to you and hurry you up off the phone with very little info and this the place I was told to call. Not professional at at We are human being and we Demand to be treated with Dignity and Trust me I don’t Look like what I’m going thru by a long shot Homeless doesn’t always look the part but that’s what’s been in my path and I never thought I would be here and I’m looking for assistance I will be emailing the powers to be in the Am . I’m currently in trouble cause I need to be out of my home today and all United way could say was call when you get kicked out onto the streets! Makes no dahm sense and then the homeless shelters St. Louis does have, they are only for children who have children or men only shelters. I work so I guess I’ll just have to go to a motel. I do have an apartment showing coming up so that’s a glimmer of hope but I’m just so stressed out and don’t know what to do and feeling overwhelmed and confused and scared all in one.. 211 do not help the homeless people because they don't know how it feels to be homeless and when they say that can help the homeless they are a huge bunch of "LIARS"!!!! you can tell them that you are homeless but they don't care about nobody but their self even when i called them and told them that both myself and my wife are homeless with our cat they didn't do anything to try and help us because they just don't care and they tell you to try st patrick's center and they are a huge joke as well they have you to come to their office and hand you a bunch papers and that's it and they should never be in...
