So we decided to stay here for a concert. This was a great choice for us. The Service: Our check-in went smoothly, and everyone did a fantastic job. They were courteous and cordial. The Room: We were booked on the 11th floor. Facing the church and library, the architecture is something to admire and enjoy. The double blinds that have a black out feature is really nice. There were plenty of outlets and USB plug-ins for all. The TV channels for the live feature were more than enough. And we enjoyed being able to use our Netflix account to watch a few episodes. The bathroom was comparable to most nicer bathrooms. Clean and nicely appointed with squeeze bottles instead of the small samples was a nice touch. The air conditioning was more than adequate. The beds and pillows are well kept and everything we expected. The free breakfast was definitely nice because it has a lot of choices for all types (omnivores, vegetarians, etc. They even have alternative milk. The game room consists of a pool table and dedicated lounge areas to relax. The business center is a park of desktops if you need that sort of thing. While they don't have a full convient store, they do have the basics. The Location: We were within walking distance of the Dome (15 minutes), and the area has several public parking garages. They do have valet parking, and the public street parking is a pain. They only have less than an hour parking, plus if you are parking in one of the garages then you have to walk to and from the garage and it's much simpler to use the service. We called ahead to get our room before the standard 4 pm check-in. And everything was great. It's also pet friendly. You do have a lot of great options for entertainment and food in the area as well as cultural and attractions in...
Read moreThis is a tough review to craft..... Our first reaction to this property revolved around the photo in the Hilton app; this is a historic 97 year old office building that was renovated into a hotel and not a modern 4 or 5 story property as displayed... But that is a minor flaw compared to the rest!! The lobby is funky, open and bright. We were greeted warmly. When we got to the elevators we got a new vibe; these are OLD and sketchy! Upon arrival to the 10th floor we exited the car to a 97 year old terrazzo floor (and some of the dirt appeared to be that old too) before heading to the fresh carpeting and onward to our room. The room is minimalistic, and had zero storage. there is a 15" cloths rod with 2 hangers. For those used to the amenities of Hilton properties, there is no inroom coffee (or even cups for drinking water) The new style shampoo / soap dispensors in the shower were empty. The BIG issue in the shower is the valve. The pipes were reversed so instead of being a 'scald gurard' style it was a scald valve!! The hotel was sold out so no chance to move. The breakfasts were, well, less than impressive. Coffee and hotwater were empty, the eggs were crunchy (breakfast starts at 6:00 and we arrived before 7:00 both mornings) There is no toaster for the breads, there were no napkins....... The location is great for folks who don't worry about homeless encampments, or street racing at night.. Fun Fact, the hotel is about a 1/2 mile from what is known as 'Murder Shell'...... Walking to the ball park was about 10 minutes, the Arch in 15 and the hockey arena is 5 minutes. Parking is $45.00 a night; a bit of an insurance policy IMO...... Overall, I am shocked that Hilton allows this property to...
Read more2-Star Review: Total Rip-Off, Hilton Scams with Parking|I’m a former Hilton Diamond member (3-4 years, lost status during COVID), and I don’t waste time on reviews—this is only my second bad one ever. This St. Louis Hilton is an absolute trainwreck. They’ve rigged the parking situation to screw you over. Valet is basically mandatory because self-parking doesn’t exist—construction, staff cars, and security take up what little space there is. To top it off, I realized they park the valet vehicles in the few metered spots right in front of the hotel, guaranteeing you can’t park unless you cough up $55/day for their valet. That fee? Buried in some “optional services” dropdown on their booking site. Optional? What a joke—unless you want to haul your bags blocks through a dangerous neighborhood, you’re stuck. Nobody at check-in said a word about the cost. Straight-up deceptive.|Staff was hit-or-miss: half were okay, half were lazy or just rude. The mobile check-in app is useless—you still need to hit the front desk for a key to even turn on the room’s lights. Check-in was painfully slow, too. Safety’s another issue. This hotel’s in a rough part of St. Louis—locals don’t stop at signs to avoid getting carjacked. Walking with luggage? Forget it. They’ve got armed security out front 24/7, but they let random delivery guys wander the upper floors without a key. In this area? That’s just stupid.|Never thought a Hilton could sink to a 2-star rating, but this place is a disgrace to the brand, especially for a loyal guy like me. Stay somewhere else, and if you’re stuck here, call them out on their parking...
