Wouldn’t go back again. Wait time was just over 35 minutes and other groups got seated before because they had bigger parties (even though we had been waiting).
Once seated, our server, Anthony N, came over after about 5 minutes. We ordered a pink paloma (pretty drink but flavorless) and French 75 (decent). We waited about 10 minutes for drinks.
Anthony finally returned with drinks and we finally ordered the seasoned black bean scramble and a g.b.l.t crepe. Food came out after about 30 minutes, which was not delivered by Anthony and of course after waiting 30 minutes, we were out of drinks. Seasoned black bean scramble was ok, but black beans were definitely not seasoned and the salsa was bland. Literally tasted like they were poured from a can. The g.b.l.t crepe was not good. The crepe had NO flavor and also lacked much filling. Even though tomato is listed in the name, there was one half slice of tomato, so essentially a bite. The goat cheese (saving grace of the crepe), was delicious and a decent amount of bacon. One slice of lettuce which was sliced into ribbons and on the edge of the plate along with “Rooster Mayo”.
Got just over halfway through our meal when Anthony finally returned to check on us. Ordered a corpse reviver and about 10 minutes later that came out (VERY TASTY), by a different person as well. Food was gone by then, so we waited another 5 minutes or so and Anthony returned. We asked for the check, which they have on their palm pilot, so no printout. And no option to review the bill. $59 after tip, and the quality of food wasn’t great.
Manager/Owner never came around to our table or any of the ones on the right side of the restaurant when you walk in. Would’ve definitely noted how slow the service was start to finish (1 hour) for two meals. I will say the table across from us had the biscuits and gravy, and one of the two biscuit sandwiches, which did look really good. But since we didn’t like our experience, we won’t be going back...
Read moreNormally i'm pretty hard pressed to leave a negative review but we had a tough time here this morning. Upon entering it appeared to be a nice place to eat, it wasn't busy but we walked in just about 10 minutes after opening. I used the restroom before we were seated and it was fairly disgusting... I didn't come here to pay to use the restroom so I wasn't very worried about it. When we got seated our table had crumbs from the previous patrons left on it as well as our glasses on the table weren't entirely clean either. (YUCK, nobody else would have sat here since we'd gotten there at opening so they must not clean well at night or during business hours)
Our server was very kind however didn't ever bring my coffee that I asked for twice then still charged us for it. The potatoes were pretty gross and definitely not made fresh. My biscuits for were hard, crunchy, and room temperature and the sausage gravy had very little sausage if any (i couldn't identify any sausage in my gravy). The Ketchup (which i got about 3/4 of the way through our meal FINALLY) was more like coctail sauce and honestly pretty disgusting. PLEASE for the love of god get some heinz ketchup to keep in the back and ask people wether the want house or heinz ketchup as I understand it's house made ketchup.
What we got was extremely expensive (one crape that was cold, the biscuit and gravy meal, and my phantom coffee, we drank waters) almost $50.00 by the time we paid.
Exceptionally nice folks working here. Very poor execution of a functioning restaurant. Hopefully whomever is in charge can read these reviews and get things rolling in a positive direction because I can't imagine that many folks will be eating here for much longer if my experience this morning...
Read moreThis morning, my family of nine and I dined here for the first time, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing from the very start. Our server, Dominique, was curt and dismissive almost immediately. Simple requests were met with unnecessary resistance—for example, when I asked for a napkin to clean up spilled water, I was told, “Let me go in the back to see if we have any.” When my mother requested iced tea, we were told the restaurant only had hot tea, only to watch iced tea being served to the table next to us shortly afterward. After several unpleasant exchanges, we asked for a manager. At that point, napkins were finally provided and one glass of iced tea was brought out. Still, the service continued to unravel. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, only some of our food arrived, with a couple of orders prepared incorrectly. We decided not to make a fuss, hoping the rest of the food would soon follow. Unfortunately, it took so long that two of us eventually canceled our meals altogether while the rest of our family ate. To the credit of the staff, Ken stepped in and did his best to recover the situation, and the general manager, Portia, went above and beyond to try to de-escalate and salvage the experience. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and I am grateful for the professionalism they showed. That being said, first impressions matter, and ours was marred by poor service, dismissiveness, and avoidable mistakes. We had high hopes given the rave reviews we’d heard coming in from out of town, but we left with disappointment instead of satisfaction. Dining out is not just about food—it’s about hospitality. When that is absent, no amount of good intention at the end can make up for what was lost...
