If you’re ever craving crispy, flavorful fried food in the late hours of the night, look no further than [Stl city grill]. Open from 10 PM to 3 AM, this spot is a true lifesaver for night owls, late-shift workers, or anyone who simply wants great food after most places have closed.
Crispy, Golden, and Packed with Flavor The moment I took my first bite of the fried chicken, I knew this place took their craft seriously. Perfectly seasoned and fried to a beautiful golden brown, the chicken was juicy on the inside and deliciously crunchy on the outside—exactly how it should be. It’s the kind of comfort food that instantly hits the spot.
Their fried fish was equally impressive—light, flaky, and coated in a seasoned crust that gave it a satisfying crunch without being heavy or greasy. Paired with lemon wedges and their signature dipping sauce, it was clear they use quality ingredients and fry everything fresh to order.
The side dishes are the perfect complements never had anything that wasn’t tasting homemade. Even tho I been coming here since they opened up Iam their daily customer , their only 2min walk from the job I work at ,Every element of the meal felt well-thought-out and satisfying.
Customer Service That Stands Out Even though I arrived late—closer to midnight—the staff was welcoming, attentive, and full of energy. You’d never guess it was the middle of the night based on their attitude. They were happy to explain the menu, offered suggestions, and made sure I had everything I needed without ever rushing me.
That kind of friendly, consistent service makes all the difference—especially during late-night hours when most places tend to lower their standards. At [Stl city grill], it feels like every customer matters, no matter what time you walk through the door.
A Late-Night Essential With hours from 10 PM to 3 AM, this place fills a major gap in the local food scene. Whether you're coming from work, a night out, or just looking for something comforting and delicious after hours, this is the spot. You don’t just get convenience—you get quality.
Final Verdict [Stl city grill] delivers exactly what you want in a late-night bite: hot, fresh, flavorful fried fish and chicken, fantastic customer service, and an easygoing vibe that makes you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m bringing friends.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Hot, fresh, and friendly—this is how late-night...
Read moreFood was sub decent nothing to rave about, floors were gross and covered with food and sauce! Not to mention a broken window with broken glass just hanging out there on the floor as well! The island table not mounted to the floor either which isn’t safe! Tables and floors and chair not cleaned or taken care off which that should have been our first sign to dip out since this place was filthy and glass on the floor!
My partner and I had a small group as well when we came in and we all ordered but for some reason they forgot my partners order completely and we all got our food and everyone else in the store did before I had to go up a few times to get updates on where this food was! Took well over 40 minutes to get some fries with cheese and beef on it! Even after me pestering them my partner got the wrong food, low effort slapped together dish that was supposed to have fried but had chips and a cheese burger chopped up and a ton of lettuce thrown in! The fries I had were way over seasoned with lemon pepper and garlic salt every fry was loaded with this seasoning.
The staff couldn’t really care about the customer here since one guy was chilling on his phone and talking to some friends and the other lady was at least taking orders but when it came to some issues we had nothing was done and we were forced to wait! They seemed so unenthusiastic to take anyone’s order which for a high dated place you think hey they will be excited for some business which sadly their rating should be lower.
Even after they forgot my partners food and made us wait for the wrong order we didn’t even get a proper apology just a sorry with a smile and then walked away from us. I would not recommend this place at all! The high star rating is a sham and these folks really need to get on top of things. Because my party wasn’t the only one effected by thing because another party was also dealing with their food taking ages to come out. Me and my friends will not be...
Read moreI came to stl as a visitor for my sons shriners hospital visit , went becuz it had chicken strips and a burger for the kids and a wide variety on menu for me , HOWEVER THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WAS HAD. My total for a kids 2pc chickem strip with fries, a cheeseburger plain with fries, a philly cheese steak with fries, and a 12pc of boneless wings and a side of corn nuggets and 3 8oz cups of pudding deserts they have. MY TOTAL WAS 130!!!!! WHAT?!?!?! It was 15.99 for my kids 2pc chicken strip, it was 20bucks for 12 boneless wings???? I gave the food 3 stars becuz of the size portions are very generous and it was good food. But i called my order in at 810 so i could have time to hit the pool before 10 at the hotel, when i got there it was a gross looking wanna be restaurant with groceries in a corner that were outrageously over priced. And becuz theyre so slow there was 3 dudes together waiting on their food and 2 dudes seperate waiting one that said hed been there an hour. I CALLED AHEAD. ORDER PLACED AT 810PM... we left with our TO GO order at 946. Im not even kidding. I was so upset. And the atmosphere was dirty and i felt like i was in detroit in the worst part of town, when i was literally by union station a beautiful part of town. It made no sense. Also the customer service was INSANE. The girl that works the counter HAAAATES her job and hates ppl and you cant convince me otherwise. It was terrible. I couldnt ask a question without her randomly cutting me off to talk to dudes, she didnt smile the entire time AT ANYONE. And on top of that forgot one of my desserts. It was really frustrating. This is my first ever negative google review. And i must say i was soooooo upset when i left. 130 dollars for subpar food from a dirty place and ghetto...
