Think twice about using them to xfer a firearm for you. I purchased a rifle online and had it delivered to their store. I called beforehand to let them know the details and they didn't seem to want the details or info I was providing them. "Just order it and have it shipped here, and we'll call you when it arrives." was what I was told. They didn't want my name, contact information or details about the retailer I used or the item I purchased, which was a bit surprising to me. It seems that they solely rely on the info supplied by the retailer shipping the weapon in order to contact you.
SO...I bought one rifle online, and saw via the tracking that it arrived at their store. No call. The next day, I went in to pick up my rifle, and the person at the counter asked "Did we call you?" and I told them "No, but I got a notification from the shipper that it arrived here yesterday." They did some looking around, and finally found my rifle and did the xfer. Not a great experience, but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt...maybe it was just an off day for them. As an aside, they did have a very nice selection of firearms, and in a show of support for their business, I bought one of their pistols. Not a great price, but again, I was excited to have a local gun store with a nice selection.
A couple of months later, I bought another rifle online and had it shipped to them. I again called and informed them that it was coming, and the guy on the phone didn't seem very interested in what I was telling him. The weapon arrived at their location at 10AM on a Friday, and by 3PM, I hadn't heard from them, so I went in to pick it up. I was once again asked "Did we call you?". I answered "No, but it has been here for 5 hours already, according to the tracking info." I was told that I couldn't pick it up if I hadn't received a call. They said their "Inventory Manager" had to check the weapon in and would call me. I asked if I could speak with this person, and was basically told "No. Wait for a call...it'll be later today or tomorrow." I explained that I live some distance away, and that it'd be really convenient for me if I could pick it up today. I explained that I'd really like to wait until the guy could help me that day, seeing how I was in town. I was again told that he was busy, and they couldn't help me. I left their store extremely angry and frustrated.
Four days later, I STILL hadn't received any call from them, so I called. The guy that answered the phone seemed genuinely lost. He left me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back. A lady then picked up and asked if I was being helped, so I re-explained the situation to her. She finally came back and said she'd found my weapon and said that they must've had the wrong contact number for me from the retailer who I'd bought the weapon from (remember, they DON'T collect your contact details from you in person beforehand), which I do NOT believe to be the truth. I checked with the retailer I purchased the weapon from, and I confirmed that they had my phone number correct in their system. Why did nobody at the store at least take down my name and number during previous contacts/visits? Very slipshod methods of accounting and record keeping.
I get it that your options are limited in this part of the state for businesses to handle a firearm xfer, but if you choose to go with this business, just be aware that they seem to have a very questionable commitment to calling you in a timely manner once your weapon arrives at their store. You have to constantly badger and hector them to get them to authorize you to come in and get your firearm. Can you imagine anything more irritating than to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a new firearm, only to have it sit at their store for 4 days without them calling you?
The customer service I experienced here was quite poor, and they were not helpful when I explained my issues with their service. I'll never do business...
Read moreI frequent dozens of gun shops within 500 miles. TC has some of the best inventory, some very knowledgeable employees and a very big bright store. Their claim that they are the biggest in the southeast is no lie. Their inventory is constantly coming in and new items are abound continuously. Is this a Bass Pro shops in size? No, just right for the area. I see the employees at TC working double and sometimes triple their number on an hourly basis. The prices are fair, you can order online from their distributors and have items (minus guns) directly to your home. Ammo prices are right in line with anybody else and boy do they have a selection. I drop by this store at least 2 times a week to see whats new and I'm never let down. The store has undergone some renovations, opening it up, making more room for GUN STUFF!!!!!!!
The owner/manager Chris/Nikko are ALWAYS warm and welcoming and give the store that hometown feel. They treat people right and people continue to return, many, for more than 20 years. The other managers, Devan, Jeremy and Steve are equally as awesome to deal with and a wealth of knowledge. They are prepared to give you advice on optics, guns in any size, color and shape, Silencers, ammo, CQB, armor, reloading and if you want to build AR's, well, they can absolutely help you there.
I think you should come on down and give them a try! Fun place to be and spend...
Read moreI purchased a KEL TEC SUB 2000 from T&C Pawn on 5-12 18. I had read in the American Rifleman that Kel Tec had a safety Recall on these guns. I asked the lady who sold me this gun if she knew of this and she said no. I purchased the gun and went on Kel Tec's website and found my gun was on the recall list. No problem I shipped it back to the manufacturer and 8 weeks later I got the gun back and Kel Tec included a new magazine free for the inconvenience. I went to T&C Pawn on 10-13-18 to stop by and browse and shop and made mention of my gun that I purchased from them having to be sent back for a recall and was trying to help the staff in letting them know of the recall of these Kel Tec models.
The staff did not seem interested in this and promptly ignored me and I think they just will let their customers find out the same way I did. They probably knew of the recall when they sold me this gun after how the staff treated me when I told them about this.
The safety recall was about the barrels rupturing when fired which is very dangerous for anyone shooting this gun.
I will never purchase another item in this store due to the poor customer service I received and their lack of concern for the safety of their...
