I scheduled an appointment for my son on a Friday afternoon out of caution for a potential serious medical issue. I was told to come in fifteen minutes early so that new patient paperwork could be filled out. On the Monday of the appointment, I was called fifteen minutes before his appointment and told that he could not be seen as a new patient because I didn’t have his medical records from his previous pediatrician, which isn’t extensive because he’s only a one year old. When I told the front desk worker that it was extremely unprofessional to wait until fifteen minutes before an appointment to notify a parent of this issue, especially when they serve a low income community and I had in fact drove from out of town, instead of apologizing and offering a solution, she placed the blame on the call center. When I asked for a records release form and how I could get him seen that day and stated that this wasn’t a light issue, I was very rudely told that if I was concerned about my child’s well-being I would have taken him to the hospital, when in fact the hospital recommendation was to take him to the pediatrician. When I told her she needed to watch how she talks to people and that she was very inappropriate in her remark, like a teenager with a bad attitude, she hung up the phone as she made more rude remarks. I still showed up to the office to try and get him seen, in hopes that they would take his well-being seriously and send the records release immediately so that they could get his records. I was informed that they would give me the records release form, but they would not try to get him in that day as scheduled and that I would have to reschedule him. This is not the first bad experience that I have had at this office. From the very first day I went with my newborn, the front desk workers had poor bed-side manners. My very first experience even was with the short haired older women speaking to with me with an attitude before I had even started speaking to her, which carried on to each appointment thereafter to the point that I would avoid having to go to her window. No matter how much I love and trust Dr. White, I will not return nor recommend this office again until either her office staff receives training on how to properly speak and interact with patients, or until they are removed completely. Ten out of ten do...
Read moreI'm a fairly new patient here at UF Health but I wanted to write this review regarding my over the phone experience with Ariel in the St. Mary's location.
I made a phone call to UF Health and the helpline was able to relay my message to the Dr./office. Within a couple of hours or less, Ariel from the St. Mary's location called me back to address all of my concerns. I appreciate the promptness and the initiative to get back to patients which is such an underated quality.
Ariel is professional, helpful courteous, and knowledgeable. She made corrections, notes, looked into things for me, and was able to explain things to me in a way I could understand. She made me feel like I could take my time to ask my questions and I never felt rushed.
Due to her dilligent work, kindness, and patience I feel good...
Read moreThe last and only two appointments I had made here for my children, has always ended up being cancelled by them. They don't give the parent a heads up, they call a half hour before the appointment (both times) to come up with some excuse why the child cannot be seen. In my case it was because my kids weren't assigned a doctor, but I have the form in my hand from my insurance telling me what doctor they have and I verified it with my insurance..... Sooooo???? From hearing other's having similar experiences with this office, all I can...
