Our group didn’t have a great first experience here.
We waited 40 minutes for anyone to take our order or bring water. Although our servers were very friendly when ordering, they were unfamiliar with the menu and due to the poor management, they were put in uncomfortable situations, like multiple orders of drinks or dishes. We were first told that beer and calamari were unavailable, 20 minutes after initially ordering it. Some of our meals arrived before any of the drinks. The delays continued - as the final two meals arrived when the rest of the table had already finished theirs.
Unfortunately there were many inconsistencies. The same cocktail orders arrived in different glasses, and the same dishes were served on different plates, with different sauces and toppings. The food was average for the price. On value, the pelmeni was very overpriced for the very small portion received.
Finally, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. The music was far too loud, making conversation impossible, and the low-energy songs were not great for a Saturday night.
On a lighter note, the restaurant is in a great location and is decorated beautifully. We hope the restaurant addresses these training and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were looking for something new for our date night and this place did not disappoint. We walked in and immediately loved the ambiance and were greeted right at the door. Our server Roman was extremely attentive and made sure everything we needed or asked for was readily available for us.
Throughout the night we were met with phenomenal foods one after another. We had started first with the Tuna Tartar (which felt fresh and not too heavy), and split the Borsch Soup (my girlfriend's childhood favorite). It even came with Salo made in house. We then moved on to our entrees, I got the Rizz Burger which in all honesty may have been one best cooked burgers ive had in along time. And my girl got the Pelmeni, which was also handmade and extremely authentic. Not to mention we were also met by Chef Kris who polietly introduced himself and made sure the food was to our liking.
We finished our night with drinks and live music and were very pleased with our experience. Even considering coming back to hold a birthday in the near...
Read moreI was really excited to try Rizz since it’s a new spot in Stamford, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. I understand they just opened and might still be working things out, but there were several issues that really stood out.
The chicken wings were undercooked. They also didn’t have any beer available, even though it was listed on the menu. Our server didn’t seem familiar with what was actually available — he had to go back several times to check and still couldn’t give clear answers.
On top of that, there was a live band playing, and while I appreciate that they’re trying to create a lively atmosphere, it was so loud that it was hard to hear or have a conversation with the group I was with.
I really wanted to like this place, but between the food quality, lack of organization, and overwhelming noise level, it just wasn’t a good experience. Hopefully, as they settle in, things will improve, but for now, I...
