I checked this place out on Friday, 8/23 as I wanted to be sure I could find it since I was meeting a friend there today, 8/24 (who was visiting and I hadn't seen her in like 38 years and she was flying back to CO today)..
On my first visit on Friday, 8/23, I ordered an iced coffee and a croissant and I really enjoyed what I had plus I loved the roominess and ambience of the place.
Today, 8/24, I was meeting my old college friend at 8 AM so I was their first customer to order and all I ordered was a Cafe Au'Lait and a Yogurt Parfait. My friend ordered a Raspberry Mocha and it took a good 10 to 15 minutes for her coffee and she was drinking hers long before mine was ready. I went up to the counter after almost 20 minutes asking what happened to my coffee and the coffee person said it required a 'pour over' (?) which I didn't understand as I can go to Starbucks and generally get one in 5 minutes (10 if they're busy) It was another 10 minutes before my Cafe Au'Lait was ready so we're talking it took close to 30 minutes for this cup of coffee to be made which was interrupting my visit with my friend before she was to fly back to CO and we only had 1.5 hrs to catch up on 38 years.
Although the coffee was good when I finally got it, I don't know that I'll ever go back. If it takes that long for that type of coffee to be made, I should have been warned when I ordered it so that I could have chosen something else and here I tipped 20% on our coffee orders at the time of purchase. At Starbucks there would have been an apology and a credit for a free coffee.
Won't go back even though it's got...
Read moreNice, cozy place with a ton of seating options. The area is very spacious and you can walk from end-to-end and easily find a worthwhile spot to sit and get some work done.
I came here a few days ago, after getting my haircut at the nearby Barber shop. I humbly apologize for the lack of pictures, as I was in a rush and didn't think to snap any on the spot.
Parking was easy enough to find. If I remember correctly there's a lot out front.
I was interested in lattes and mocha flavors, so if I recall I had the White Mocha latte. I was informed that popular espressos came with French Vanilla. I didn't get an opportunity to try that; maybe next time.
Latte was creamy and decent, but nothing to write home about. It was so-so and plus points because it was lukewarm to piping hot by the time I was done with it.
Points for presentation because it came in a large, decorated cup and a saucer with it.
I sat down and fired up my laptop at one of the cozy tables in the back. I barely even tasted the latte, but I recall it was hot enough.
I was not a fan of the posters with "Praise the Lord" plastered everywhere. I tried to get a table not directly facing it, as I'm not an overly religious person. Otherwise, no harm done.
After a while I relocated from the back to a table in the front area. Quite a walk but I like you can just pick up and move if the atmosphere isn't quite right or something.
I just got the latte and it was decent. For the interesting ambiance and generous seating, I rate up one star.
Overall, cool spot. I might be back to try the one with French...
Read moreGreat tea and veggie cakes. Needs to work on their customer service. I was a first time customer who called for directions and someone obviously picked-up and hung-up. Then I called again and the girl wasn't sure which building they were in. *SIDE NOTE, yes... I have GPS and google maps, so getting to the area was manageable.... However there's multiple buildings and 18 degrees outside... so, yes I CALLED.
I digress... once I got there, I ordered a Jasmin green tea and veggie cakes. I wasn't offered a menu, I had to ask for one (it was not visible but tucked away from the cashier). Once I paid for my order.... I was given eye contact that my items were ready... she raised it up with both hands and placed them back down behind the register (I could not reach it bc there was a raised counter), and she proceeded to assist another guest.
I stopped and stared at her for a full minute, only for to say "oh! Here you go". Now, at that point she hands me the tea in one hand and my cakes in to-go container.
Now, she sees that I am wearing a huge coat... gloves... with my handbag... why wouldn't she place my food in a bag????
I kindly ask for a bag... and she not only pulled out a bag but placed a fork and knife in the bag as well. Why did I have to ask????
Ugh! SMH (prejudice).
Let's get to the tea--- OMG, super delicious. It taste and smells like perfume green tea. If you like the smell of lavender, then you like this tea. It's very nice. The veggie cakes are also...
