Cermak Produce — Local services in Stickney Township

Love this store. The produce is usually filled. Hard working people that try there best at doing there job. As far as organic food not many but I not picky. If you are looking for organic isles than this store is not for you. They do have moderate prices for fruits and vegetables. The deli meat they have a variety and they even have a small pace to order hot food. Great for when you are out of work and forgot to prep or simply you don't feel like cooking. I can say, the guisados that I have tried are authentic Mexican flavors but as far as the fried stuff I will reserve my comment. The meat counter has great and bad butchers but overall more good than bad. There's an older short man that he is always super attentive and will do about any cut you ask. There are new guys that are also somewhat to help. Most of them aren't fluent in the english language but are very happy to help anyone. Please be patient or ask another customers as Latinos are ALWAYS willing to translate. This store is heavy on Mexican products so if you just watch the Chef Rick Bayless show and are feeling the Mexican cuisine than head over to Cermak. Most of the cashier are ok. I bought obleas at Cermak Produce that were clearly marked $4.99 but the register charged me $8.99. When I pointed this out I was frustrated because of the significant price difference and explained that it felt deceptive, I also emphasized the importance of correcting it so other customers aren’t misled. The supervisor’s response? “A huevo te lo quieres quedar.” There isn’t a direct English translation, but it’s extremely rude — especially in a customer service context. Then, she threw the product on the floor in front of me. I was shocked — not just by the overcharge, but by the completely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. After reading other reviews, I realized I’m not alone. Many other customers report deceptive shelf pricing, overcharges, and staff acknowledging wrong behavior .This doesn’t seem like a onetime mistake it seems to be a systemic issue.

I’ll be bringing this to the attention of the City of Chicago’s Department of Consumer Protection, and I encourage others to do the same.

Customers deserve honesty and respect not deceptive pricing and public humiliation.

I do my shopping there bedford going to walmart. But this is the second complaint i have reported to the manager in less than 2 months. It has to do with the meat department. The dont wear their masks correctly. 2nd compliant and it still going on. They are mostly having conversations with profanity. With the mask half way, nose out and mouth visible! To top it off i witnessed one employee on the other side of the glass putting on gloves. Grabbing his cellphone holding it fxing it in top of the counter and then started grabbing the meat to put it in the machine. That to me was disgusting . Cellphones have the most germs! And why is he aloud to have it in there. I have a picture of this. If they have this disgusting behavior in front where people see them. It makes me wonder what they do when we dont see them! Time to try...
