For starters the Costco Business Center isn't your typical Costco Warehouse. There is no food court, they don't sell TVs, and the major appliances they do sell are geared towards businesses like restaurants or offices.
Why should an everyday person go here then? For a few reasons they carry items that say "online only" on the website for your normal Costco location might be here. For example I got Tully's coffee online, paid the $6 shipping fee, but then saw it here for a few bucks less than what I paid online. And that also means no shipping fee. Same thing with how this location has both Charmin Soft and Strong. Most Costco stores only have Charmin Soft, not strong.
While I won't say not every item you may find on Costco's website that says online only will be here, but when it comes to staples like coffee or toilet paper, you may find it here to save on shipping costs.
The other unique advantage this store has it offers some different items you may not find at the normal warehouse store. They sell a wider variety of sliced cheese for example. You can get 32 slices of cheddar or pepper jack for $5. The brands they sell at times aren't in the regular store either. They also have a much bigger selection of meats, and exotic cuts like Beef Tongue. And different size packages for typical stuff like Chicken breasts to vegetables. Finally on the food side, a wider selection of sodas, drinks, and snacks like candies that you won't find in the regular store.
They also have a wider selection of items for businesses that might come in handy. I needed a lot of bubble wrap for my last move, and you get a big box here for $15-20 when a small roll is the same price at home depot. If you need other office supplies like small packages, or containers, you may find it here.
That said, I think it's worth making the drive here for certain items. But I live about 40ish mins way due to traffic. It's near Midway, so it's not the easiest place to get too, and traffic around the area can be heavy. If you live a couple hours away, I wouldn't recommend checking it out unless you are in the area already. But if you are within an hour of this location, check it out if you have...
Read moreI am not sure if they have a shortage of workers like many retailers are experiencing but every time I visit this location I have to wait a long time for someone to help me with a raincheck. Today the guy who was in charge of doing them tells ME he is doing cashiers and he had a nasty attitude when my cashier told him I needed a raincheck. Am I supposed to leave without the raincheck or something because you are working the cashier line? So after waiting over 5 minutes I asked how long would it be before someone helped me. He repeated himself 😡 And then finally ASKED someone else to help me! I wonder HOW LONG I would have stood there if I had not been persistent?🤔 This was very rude and poor customer service. Not to mention there were several other Costco employees circling around the service desk area who saw me and did not offer to assist. Maybe they could not but IF you are RESPONSIBLE for rainchecks and you are doing something else then IT is your RESPONSIBILITY to make sure someone else is doing your job in your absence and the customer shouldn't be treated like a 2nd citizen because they want a raincheck. It was offensive because it was clear I was getting the brush off from this Costco employee and I didn't appreciate it and it was very uncharacteristic of the customer service I am used to...
Read moreI must admit it was quite a change to get used to since we loved going to this location for all of our weekly needs, but once we got used to what they carry and what they don't we realized that they were quite convenient for some things and we would just have to go to another location for others. I have a suggestion for this location since so many people miss their Bakery and their deli department and some even miss their liquor dept..... maybe there would be a way that they could bring in a few pallets of whatever liquor happens to be on sale that month just so that they have some in their store what would the harm be if they don't sell it take it back to another Costco. They could also bring in Daily or weekly some of the deli or Bakery items that the other Costco's carry.... if they are promoted as a special item they may just walk out the door as an Impulse Buy. We happen to love Costco and even though this change took us a while and we need to rearrange our schedule to fit their hours, since we are greatly satisfied with their product it doesn't seem like such a sacrifice, plus we get to explore other locations for the items that this one doesn't carry and it gives us a chance to check out...
