This was my first time shopping for a box spring and this place was recommended to me by a family member to check out while I was in the area. I stopped by briefly on a Friday to inquire about pricing but decided to try to shop around. The next day, I returned to purchase the box spring as I had a pleasant interaction the day prior and just wanted to relieve myself of the mental load of continuing the search. Especially after spending the week shopping for new furniture. The place is very clean and had a decent selection of mattresses and box springs. The same woman who assisted me on Friday was there when I returned on Saturday and was kind enough to give me a 10% discount which I appreciated.
The checkout experience, however, left me feeling uncomfortable and prompted me to write this review and had I not been frazzled by the heat and exhaustion I probably would have returned to the store to bring this up directly.
When it was time to checkout I was asked if I had Zelle, which I did but I was making the purchase using my husband’s card and didn’t want to stop to call him to ask him to process a Zelle transaction as he was home with our small children moving furniture. I was then asked if I had cash which I didn’t and stated I couldn’t go to an ATM as I was on a time constraint due to pending furniture deliveries. I did start to raise my eyebrows at the requests for specific methods of payments so I asked the lady if there was a reason for the requests and it seemed that they had been burned in the past by customers. I’m an honest person but obviously she doesn’t know that so I understand.
After explaining to me that the card being used needed to be accompanied by matching identification I presented both my ID and a credit card. She proceeded to write down my name, number, address, and driver’s license number on the invoice. Verifying information is one thing but in the same way they are wary of chargebacks, I am now wary of my personal information being out there as I equally don’t know if it will end up being misused. I understand being burned by dishonest people, but I think if you have a practice that is out of the ordinary, there should be signage in the establishment that would allow customers to make an informed decision. It honestly left me questioning whether or not all patrons are subject to...
Read moreNeeded a mattress for my guest room because my mother and her husband were coming in town to visit. This was a close store with good reviews so I tried it. Great service. Showed me 3 options, I tried all 3 picked the one I wanted and paid. All done in about 15 minutes. Mattress was delivered that evening about 6pm. They brought it in the house quick and smooth. The mattress is amazing. The softest one I have...
