RTG as a franchise, could stand to improve operations for its customers. As a customer I enter the store I am not giving the opportunity to freely look over what it is I've come for Even if I want to browse, I am immediately bombarded by a sales agent who instantly starts to spew information at me without actually uncovering the purpose of what I'm shopping for. The need to sell sell and the need for a commission feeds the ego and the appetite of the sales people, that the act of building rapport and creating comfort for the customer is now absent. I am a blue collar worker and I have a mortgage, I pay insurance, I pay everything that you can imagine necessary to survive. Because every penny that I spend matters, I have to shop carefully and I need the opportunity to sit and think quietly and discuss it with my spouse as opposed to making a rapid decision.
My family and I have bought from this franchise for over 20 years not for our same home but for an hour children's apartments and even furniture for our parents. There have been sales agents who have been very patient and kind, and there have also been sales people who have been hasty and rude. I am aware of that human element so that has nothing to do with the rating that I'm giving.
My rating is based on wanting to purchase a bedroom set that we had time to go home and decide on. We were ready to make the purchase and wanted to check it's availability and have it brought out at the same time as the purchase we made in the store. This required us personally calling the sales store who then referred us to customer service so they could inform the warehouse or check the warehouse availability and the trucks availability for delivery. Now imagine being responsible for arranging your own shipping the delivery all while already being asked to upgrade your purchase in order to add more furniture to complete your bedroom set and find out that it may not be available for a few months. Instead of playing phone tag, my spouse and I decided to go directly to the store and communicate with someone face to face. Once we arrived and met with a customer service representative, our needs were met with more discussion rather than listening.
It turns out, that these sales agents have a disdain for one another and use the opportunity to express that to us as customers. Although there may be a problem in the house, it's better if that is resolved in house and remains mute to the customers that you serve.
Remain realistic about the society that you live in and be prepared to do more work than the company does in an effort to take care of your own customer...
Read moreOn the date of Friday, November 23, 2018 approximately at 09:45 I visited Rooms To Go on Turner Hill. I was greeted professionally and courteous at the door as they usually do, however I quickly came to the conclusion and realization that the Customer service and Sales Associates was truly unknowable about the black Friday sales. I took into consideration that they were more busy than usual due to the Black Friday sales. I was willing to compromise because of this. However the sales associate either had no idea of any of the Black Friday sales TV commercials and/or in the newspaper that was showing all that weekend or was trying to take complete advantage of me. I truly say this respectfully but by the Customer service and Sales Associates actions I truly believe it was the later. I already knew what I wanted from viewing the bedroom set online; I wanted to see it in person. I was also ready to purchase it as well in “CASH”. However circumstances did not fall on the right terms for the sales Associate or myself. Upon finalizing the sale the Sale Associate was very disrespectful. Such as never giving me her full attention and also lying directly to my face. For example Telling me that there was no sells that I would be Interested in. The Sales Associate then tried to tell me that particular bed room set was not on sell. Even when I let her saw that the bedroom set was One Hundred dollars off on the Rooms to Go main site by the way of her and my (smart) cell phones. Due to the Black Friday Sells. After this the Sales Associate asked me have I checked anywhere else for furniture. I wondered why the Sales Associate had to lie; it was unnecessary and unprofessional. I was truly hurt and felt disrespected; because of her actions I was not a customer at Rooms to Go and was very disappointed with the company as a whole. I will never say I will never go there again. However this experience has truly corrupted and tarnished my view on the Rooms To Go Company as a whole. Anyhow, I left the Lithonia, Georgia branch of Rooms To Go and went to Ashley Furniture where I purchased a bedroom set for a little less than $1,700.00 and left a very happy customer. Where I will and have recommended them to my family, friends, and other kind and lovely people. The Customer Service at Ashley was truly respectful and a God...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that cares about their customers I suggest going somewhere else. We did an online order with Jason as I was 9 months pregnant at the time of furniture delivery but ordered it 1/4 so I would have it in time for my sons arrival and so we asked for the set up of the nursery. I wasn’t told until the delivery team got here that they cannot set up the crib as it’s a liability. Would have been nice to know before I ordered the set up and spent extra money. We ended up having to put the furniture together ourselves anyway. Then, one of the drawers were scratched, the changing table was a different color than the whole nursery set that I ordered and the toddler rails were rescheduled for a 8/10 delivery date (I ordered the furniture 1/4/23). Then I just got a call stating that the toddler rails have been rescheduled AGAIN due to a “manufacturing issue”. The changing table hinges were too short to go into the screw holes on the back of the dresser as well so I spent 2 months arguing with the parts department over when I would receive the replacement parts (still haven’t gotten those) as it’s unsafe for my son to be on the changing table without being properly installed. These people are SO quick to take your money but don’t care about all the issues that have happened. They offered a re-selection but who wants to order new furniture that’s also a different color because rooms to go can’t do their jobs? I am very disappointed as this is our first time ordering from rooms to go and we will NEVER do it again. They will take your complaints/money but do absolutely NOTHING about it. Like I said, save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere. The only positive thing I have had from this order is his nursery set is absolutely beautiful and fell in love with it the...
