2/2025 Update: I switched my review from 2-stars to 4-stars! I tried Double Scoop again in 2024 and they seemed much friendlier so I started going there again. I've probably been there 10 times within the past year and I don't have any complaints! The only reason they didn't get 5-stars is because their free pup cup is now $1. I asked why they started charging for them and the owner said people have been abusing the freebie (e.g. ordering 5 pup cups--instead of kids cups--if they have 5 kids with them š. Leave it to our people to ruin a good thing!)
Original Review 2023: I've been here quite a few times and everytime I leave annoyed. I think I'll stick to buying Breyers at Walmart...
This ice cream is slightly overpriced but I was willing to pay a higher price for the convenience of their drive-thru. Unfortunately, for the past 3 months, their drive-thru has been closed. WHY?? Also, they used to have pup cups but everytime I go: "oh we're out of pup cup ice cream". š
-1 star: closed drive thru / no pup cups -1 star: burnt or ultra thin waffle bowls (and cones) -1 star: rude owner. Yes, she says "Welcome to DoubleScoop" but she still has an attitude--your face says 1000 words!--and doesn't seem to be a fan of answering questions and/or explaining herself.
For example, today I said, "Oh you guys charge for pup cups now?"--because I saw a $1.50 charge and no one has ever rang up a pup cup--and she snarkily said "scroll down!" I was thinking WTF...but all I said was "excuse me?", in hopes of giving her a second chance to change her tone and response. She responded the same and so did I... It took her 3 tries to respond correctly: "we have to ring it up but if you scroll down you'll see the discount." I was thinking to myself, you need to walk over to Chic-Fil-A and take a few classes on professionalism and customer service.
That being said, it wasn't always this way... When they first opened the owner was all smiles with great vibes! I'm not sure what's changed but hopefully they'll get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI been here serval times since they opened and never have the best experience. Tonight iām leaving a review for just poor customer service. They never have my order right. Tonight we arrived at 8:10 they closed at 8:30. The young lady came out to rope off the drive thru so no more cars could join the line. After waiting 15-20 mins we get to the windows for the lady to say itās limited menu because they are closed. I find that bad customer service due to the fact we have waited all this time for the news on top of we were here before you closed clearly we were in front of the rope. kids and i get to the window and iām handed two ice creams which one was incorrect so i asked where my third one was and the lady say i only order 2 . at this iām more frustrated because every time itās a issue with getting my order correct. So once I let the lady know at window about another screw up on my order on the behalf the workers.. All I hear from other ladies in the building yell OH MY GOSH! Manger saying she canāt give me something that I didnāt pay for. no type of compensation for their mess up.. Iām not asking for something I did not order.. just poor customer whenever i try to support time and time again and now to the point I will take my money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my cousin and her daughter with me a few weeks ago to get ice cream from here. We went through the drive through because we didn't want to have to get the kids out the car and the car seat. When we went to place the order we were told it would be an additional fee to place more than one order through the drive through. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I have never heard of having to pay an extra fee anywhere to place a 2nd order. Stop Nickle and diming customers. We were gonna leave but the kids really wanted ice cream. We instead had to go park and get out the car to place the exact same orders at the walk-up window. That was very inconvenient.
My next complaint is that the size of the kids cup has gotten smaller. I am rating it a 3 because of the changes. They no longer have the loyalty program where they punch the card each visit. I have 2 cards that were 1 punch away from a free ice cream that I can't use.
I used to love going here. I am not sure how I feel about this location anymore. Also at my last visit the customer service was not that great. The person that took our order was not quite nice. Please go back to how things used to be or you will start losing...
