SPA 7 — Local services in Strongsville

I truly hate to leave reviews but I feel I need to this time. I had my wedding nails done here, and some of my bridal party came with me. One got a pedicure ( which ended up infected), so needless to say she’ll never go back. We had a few drinks while we were there, we paid and left. Next appointment, I get my usual and when I go to pay I am told it will be a higher price (have never paid the same amount twice for the exact same thing I get every time) for what I still til this day don’t know because of the language barrier. I always leave a tip, according to what I can afford, and usually end up making up for it on my next visit. Well this time the technician was pissed, and made it very clear by the way she dismissed when I asked if I could book my next appointment. Tips are earned and I try very hard to tip well but tips also should NOT be expected… and before a Karen jumps on my back, I have worked in the service industry for years, sometimes people just can’t swing a large tip all the time!!!! On top of that, I missed an appointment because I put it i. My calendar wrong so went at the time I had put down, they took me in, however they were neither nice or pleasant about it, in fact both the male ( who I think is the owner) and the technician literally scolded me like I was two in front of a full shop of people. Unfortunately, calling to make the appointment was the disappointment. Working in the industry myself years ago and spending quite a bit of time in nail salons I’ve learned that not all salons are equal. This meaning, some nail techs are just not as good as others and frankly, some are just not good. When I come in to pay for a service on my nails regardless if it’s a natural or artificial enhancement I expect quality work.

I asked the gentleman who answers the phone who was pretty snippy from the get-go if the tech he would schedule me with was experienced. He took it upon himself to tell me that the question I asked was not a good question and that I shouldn’t have asked that.

I disagree, when anyone is paying for a service on their body they do have the right to ask for the experience of the technician; hair, nails, waxing...etc. I wanted a seasoned tech and if they couldn’t provide me that then I think that’s pretty unprofessional and shady.

How he should have answered instead of giving me a rude unprofessional run-a-round was “Ma’am, all of our technicians are experienced. I only hire the best!” But I was met with rude and annoyed attitude. With that I actually hung up. I do have friends and family in the area that will not be going their any longer because of this. I would definitely not recommend going their soley based on this one gentleman’s attitude toward a customer who’s never been in their salon...

My daughter came in town unexpectedly and I wanted to set-up a mani/pedi for us. I think I called 8-10 places before Spa 7, all were booked. They were able to get us in almost immediately. I was just dialing numbers when I made the appointment and wasn't exactly sure which nail place I had gotten us an appointment at. When I looked at the address I thought I had made a huge mistake. Driving there I was concerned about the quality and the parking lot had so many potholes. Walking in the smell of nail polish kinda punched you in the face and the cleanliness was less then ok. That's where the negatives end, and is the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars. We were greeted immediately, they had us pick out colors, and we headed back. I can honestly say that this was the best mani/pedi I have ever had, and I've been all over, Mario's, Kalahari Spa, Star Nail, Espres Nail and MANY others, not to say they were bad but she did an AMA job. She was nice and professional and my feet looked and felt great, my fingernails too! I didn't think that we would have gotten such a great service from the appearance of the salon, but I'm so glad we didn't leave based on the stores look.
