I feel bad writing a review like this one because the owner and I got along really well. However, I look at my wedding photos and look so incredibly frumpy in a dress that was astonishing when I had tried it on. The part of my dress where the bodice met with the skirt, went so far down my back side, there was no contour nor definition. The dress was designed to be a low back, which it also was not. When we tried to correct it, after my first round of alterations, the only way was to lower the straps... which created sagging in the front. My dress didn’t fit like a glove at all. Even upon arriving to finally pick up my wedding dress a little over a week before my wedding, I had checked my bustle, & needless to say there were still pins in it and it wasn’t sewed. This was my last visit. For a dress that was well over $3,000 and for alterations that costed $600 before my daughters dress.... I just expected a little more. And for someone to have paid attention and wasn’t so rushed. There were parts of my dress on the bodice that were snagged. I honestly don’t even want to talk about it anymore.

As for my daughters dress, everything was Lo perfect, minus the buttons that were replaced on the back due to 1 being loose and another missing. Instead of replacing it with the correct color of her dress (ivory) they were replaced with white. So I then had to find another seam stress in town and local to me to fix this the week of my wedding.

I think she has wonderful customer service, but as for me, I did not love her work. I’m giving 3 stars because my daughters dress looked impeccable even if i did have to pay someone else to fix something that i had...

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Marleta! I had originally taken my wedding dress to another alterations place that, unfortunately, did a terrible job — they put holes in the lace, completely messed up the bustle, and told me the only way to keep the strapless top up was with fashion tape. Then, less than two weeks before the wedding, I decided I wanted to add straps to feel more secure. I was so stressed again, but Marleta didn’t miss a beat. She fit me in right away, found fabric that matched the dress beautifully, and created exactly what I envisioned — making it all look seamless and natural.

Through the whole process, she made me feel calm, confident, and truly cared for. She’s not only incredibly skilled but also so warm and easy to talk to — I always left feeling like everything was going to be okay, and it was. Thanks to her, I felt amazing and comfortable in my dress on my wedding day. I’m beyond grateful I found her — she’s an absolute expert and a true professional!...

Marletta did the alterations for my wedding dress and my daughters’ bridesmaid dresses several years ago and they were all perfect. My youngest just had her wedding last month and unfortunately when we tried to schedule her alterations Marletta didn’t have any openings so we went to another local place. The other place made some serious mistakes with her dress and each time they tried to fix it, it just got worse. We found ourselves 2 days out from the wedding with a horribly fitted dress and my daughter in tears. I called Marletta from the parking lot, explained what was happening and threw myself on her mercy. She told us to stop in that day (it was almost her closing time) and she stayed late to fix it. My daughter picked up a perfect, beautiful dress the next afternoon (the day before her wedding!) and this time her tears were tears of joy and relief! We found out Marletta had stayed until after 10 pm to repair the dress. She was so calming and professional and kind and I highly recommend her!!
