Messy Aprons & Co — Restaurant in Strongsville

Cute shop, pretty desserts, and good cheesecake. Customer service is big issue in my mind. I had never tried the place before and ordered a whole cheesecake for a birthday for $62, which is a pretty penny. Ordering over the phone was smooth and pleasant.

I had my husband pick up the cake and he had mentioned noticing a crack on top after he had left the shop. Then he called up the shop and apparently the crack is a result of “scoring.” Since we were nearby shortly after the pick up, I ran back to the shop to get the cake fixed or replaced. I walked in with the cake and waited a few minutes until the owner (?) came out from the back to help me. I pointed out the crack and she immediately took the cake, said, “ok I’ll refund your money” and started walking away. I was shocked and speechless for a few seconds. Longer story short - I communicated that I wasn’t looking for a refund and she fixed it with more crumbles and threw in a birthday sign, which was a nice gesture and a great and easy fix to the problem. However, the situation was initially handled completely inappropriately. As a relatively new business, I would have thought that fixing the product or service to satisfy a customer would be the first alternative instead of jumping to a conclusion to immediately provide a refund and losing potential...

I contacted Messy Aprons about doing a gender reveal cheesecake for myself and my husband. We wanted something different than just cake but weren’t sure it was possible. WOW did Messy Aprons hit it out of the park! I gave them no direction other than just picking a flavor and was completely shocked when the owner sent me a message with a picture of the cheesecake, asking if it was okay. Beautiful is an understatement. And on top of that, it was absolutely delicious. Messy Aprons truly made the experience of finding out the gender of our final baby so special. I was blown away by their customer service, which is something you don’t get often these days. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone. Probably the best cheese cakes I've ever had. 🍥 A vast assortment of mini (1.5") plus you can special order for any occasion. There are the minis, a larger "personal size, about 3.5" and pie size!!! Called ahead and ordered a red velvet cheesecake for a birthday party, it was TO DIE FOR!😋 The pricing is super reasonable for these homemade confectionery delights. Will be back to create a desert table for the holidays. So excited for this family's business!!!
