Wilkins & Olander — Local services in Sturgeon Bay

Prudish & rude salesperson displaying a disrespectful attitude. We will not be returning due to such treatment . We were in-store for 15-20 minutes with no contact by any employees. Fine for us, but in hindsight, perhaps was a lack of customer service interest. My wife eventually inquired about the price of some kiosk items. They appeared to be of similar style and quality as those displayed on a wall in another part of the store. On this particular display, they were not as well listed or described…just a standard price tag. My wife’s inquiry was met with an annoyed facial expression and a terse response from the store ‘s rep; who immediately moved on, only to stand behind a counter. My wife described it as being “scolded.” We noted a couple of similar sounding rude/prudish acting customers. Also noted that no one in the store seemed smiling, happy, or even content. I visited the store and purchased a water bottle. I noticed a sweatshirt I wanted to try on but was in a bit of a hurry. I came back the next day, had the water bottle with me and the sweatshirt was already sold. I left the store and a clerk ran out behind me yelling “hey are you going to pay for that?” To which I asked “pay for what?” She replied “That water bottle from our store” I replied that I paid for it the preceding day and asked would she like to noted the receipt or the drink with ice cubes from home in the bottle. She said no and turned around. I think if you are going to accuse a 60 year old lady of stealing the least you could do is apologize when you realize it is your error. What a gem! I cannot speak to their retail store, as I am all the way in Quincy, MA, but I have had a really wonderful experience shopping online at Wilkins & Olander. I cannot tell you how many times I have wanted a style or print, and have found it at their website when all of the stores in my are are completely sold out! I have even found items after they have been listed as sold out on the official Vera Bradley site. The shipping is always fast and everything comes beautifully packaged.
