What an amazing find! The food here was so good that I ate here 3x during my trip lol! The menu has a ton of options really something for everyone, everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was great and (especially during covid times) the order to table time was incredible which was great because I get hangry. Also very pretty decor and so clean. I didn't take pics of everything I tried but here's what we did try. Also when we went for lunch it was late in the day so it was busy when we got there and then slowed down before dinner so I grabbed a couple pics :) BLT with grilled chicken - open faced sandwich, perfect portion size, everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned, I love BLT's and the chicken just adds so much filling protein. This is what brought me back two more times! Health Salad - healthy grains, carrots, veggies, we added grilled chicken. 85/ hard to find healthy, fresh, clean food when traveling and this really hit the spot! Falafel bites - homemade falafel was soooo good and you can tell it's home made. I didn't try the falafel sandwich but I bet it's sooo good. If I ever come back to Sturgeon Bay I'm coming back for it lol. Cheese curds - no words. So good. Get them even if you don't think you want them. Spinach salad - ok so I don't even like spinach but it's healthy and had sliced apples and walnuts and homemade cherry vinaigrette so it seemed like a good healthy choice bc I'm traveling, right? Well it was so good, I ordered it again the next day again and added grilled shrimp. I don't have a pic with the shrimp bc I gobbled it up but they were fresh and big and perfectly cooked. Crab cakes - very good, it's a family recipe the girl said. If you like crab cakes, you'll love them! Next time I'm in town I'm coming to try the crab cake sliders for sure. Caesar salad - awesome and they make their own croutons. Beef empanadas - simple and delicious, well seasoned ground beef filling in a dough pocket. This menu is so unique really. Walleye Sandwich - fried fish, perfectly coated on a delicious potato bun. Soooo good! Soup of the day was a beef and barley. They used filet mignon for the beef. It was sooooo tender and juicy. They also have fresh baked goods on the shelf by the register. Get a cinnamon sugar morning bun and chocolate chip cookies if you're lucky enough to score some. So good! Also - I'm from NY and I thought this place was under priced for the quality, freshness and given the fact that it's a pandemic. Cook at home if you can't afford to pay a few bucks for someone to serve you delicious homemade food. Restaurants are a tough business operating on small profit margins (I used to own one). This place is a gem, well priced and I hope I am lucky enough to come back one day soon.

We ate at the restaurant but didn't stay here. I have never been more sure of a 3-star review. This place was mediocrity by a thousand cuts. I have no complaints about the quality of the food but wasn't impressed by anything. I also felt that the price wasn't quite right for the experience and would have liked to see a little better value. My wife had the risotto and I had the burger. The risotto was cooked well but—again—didn't leave any major impression on us. The burger was tasty but not wholly different than a $6 In-N-Out double-double. Our cocktails were completely serviceable but just so forgettable for what should have been a slam dunk. The flavors were good but needed to come through more strongly. We got the mousse for dessert and wished we had done the cherry pie; I won't claim that it was from frozen but I certainly would have a hard time telling it apart from a Sara Lee product. Service was friendly but not outstanding. Weird pacing to our dishes/drinks coming out but that's no fault of our server. I was disappointed because this restaurant was lauded as a must-do and at the top of every list. Overall, I think it was fine and an option if you're traveling but you'll be just fine if you elect to dine elsewhere.

We enjoyed the restaurant only and want to give a shout out to a super dining experience. Our server, Andrea, was amazing from start to finish, as we relied on her to recommend some of her favorites. My Door County Cherry Cosmopolitan was refreshing with a generous pour. I decided to do an app/salad dinner and WOW. The lemon feta dip was one of the best I've had--the lemon flavor was pure and pronounced with plenty of feta throughout, paired with a generous portion of tender pieces of naan. My beet salad also did not disappoint. Ultra -fresh ingredients and simply delicious. I topped it off with a slice of their cherry pie, ala mode of course. We can't wait to visit this gem in Sturgeon Bay again!

First of all, this is both an INN and a RESTAURANT. I stayed at the inn, and ate at the restaurant, so I will review them both.

THE INN: It's very small and quaint. So quaint, there's NO ELEVATOR up to the second floor, so be prepared to carry all your luggage and belongings up the stairs. Not a big deal, but you need to know this for those who have limited mobility.

Sadly, I don't remember our room number, but it overlooked 3rd Ave, and was as nice a room as you could want, with a GIANT bed that you literally needed steps to get into! The room had a fireplace, but sadly it was out-of-service when we stayed, but there was a wonderful little sitting area around the fireplace that I really enjoyed. Be aware that there are very, very few electrical outlets in the room to plug things into, so make sure to bring a power strip if you have lots of electronics you need to charge, like me.

They have wonderful baked goods in the morning, and a neat little "community" dining room that is really cozy and nice. I absolutely loved my stay, and would gladly come back again.

THE RESTAURANT: Oh my, was a wonderful surprise! They are known for their chicken picatta, and so I decided to get it. What a treat! They must of have used half a jar of capers for the chicken! Oh my goodness, everything was cooked to perfection, and tasted wonderful. For desert, I had one of their famous "morning buns" (not on the menu, asked for it as a special favor) and it was a heavenly experience! It was so big I needed to share it with my wife!

As for the service and the atmosphere, it was fantastic. Great service, and a nice, old-fashioned interior. It feels like your dining in the 19th century. Can't speak highly enough about this place, I will certainly be coming back again!

BOTH THE INN AND THE RESTAURANT ARE HIGHLY...

I rarely give poor reviews but...

Terrible decision making. Party of 9 with 3 k8ds called ahead for outdoor dining. Upon arrival at the specified time the table was not ready. The waitstaff then decided to take the orders of two other tables as they had less people. These tables did not have children.

I am not naive to how restaurants work, but customer experience needs to be balanced. I doubt these other people appreciate my kids acting out because they are waiting for food.

Avoid.

EDIT:

Our discussion began by me telling you I understand your reservation policy. Google Users please ignore this complaint.

Based on this timestamp you will noticed this was posted the second time I asked for a drink that I did not receive for 30 mintues and before our conversation.

During our discussion the second thing I eliminated as being "my bad" was if this restaurant was not child friendly. You said it was.

The basis of my anger is that you didn't want to hold up your kitchen with our large order. How does that jive with your mentioned first come first served policy? We had two child 3 and younger.

The only item I asked be removed from my bill was the flat soda I did not drink (not the replacement item i ordered that took 30min). I didn't even have you swap the Arnold Palmer x2 to the other side of the table...

In fact I said "... I took the risk..." in regards to my taste complaints. You chose to comp items.

The reason I chose not to update this review is evident in the response: You assumed I can't understand you don't take reservations. You assumed that what matters to me is money. Your waitstaff chose not to correct a worsening experience.

Notice how I didn't stiff the tip despite what others might have done in a similar situation. I am sorry but you are...
