Editing my review after reading so many others. I dislike leaving completely negative reviews. I try to see the positive when I can knowing that my experience is only a tiny fabrication of a businesses day/week/month/year. After reading other reviews I have to add that I completely agree with the absurdity in pricing. We got 2 milk shakes (that had zero flavor and were runny, 2-2scoops of ice cream and one cake cone. $36! I also decided to allow the 3 teens with me to each pick out a treat and I got a small bag of taffy, ONE cordial cherry, one cherry chocolate log-i can't rememebr the name, 2 packs of old stale gum and 2 life saver packs to the tune of $66! I understand we made our own choices but I literally almost gasped. These folks know all too well that they can rob you with these high prices because once the kids have their hearts set on something most parents aren't going to disappoint them by making them shelve their items. This place is NOT an affordable option, especially for the stuff they serve and the rude staff. I will steer clear of this place and advise others to do the same. END OF ADDED EDIT*
ORIGINAL REVIEW: This place has a great selection of both old and new candy selections., along with ice cream choices and an amazing fresh sweets case with so many options. We got a wide variety of items and enjoyed all. Our cashier at the candy counter was so polite and welcoming, even was telling us some history and facts about the treats they sell that we were purchasing which was cool to learn about. Some of the other staff could work on their people skills and the prices could be more affordable but I understand it's a tourist trap and the prices reflect that- but being from near the area it's not a place we can afford to visit other than for a maybe...

I recently visited this sweets shop with high hopes of enjoying a delightful experience, given its charming appearance and unique selection of sweet treats. Upon arrival, my excitement quickly turned sour. While my companions and I eagerly selected a few items and queued up for ice cream, we couldn't help but notice the unsettling scene unfolding before us.
A couple stood in front of us, clearly waiting for assistance, as no one was present behind the counter. After a puzzling delay, a woman emerged from another room and positioned herself behind the counter, without uttering a word. The couple politely asked for help, to which the employee curtly responded that they hadn't requested anything yet. The lady explained that she was waiting for someone to help to be able to order, prompting an impatient retort from the employee, implying they should have spoken up sooner. This exchange left a distinct impression of the employee's abrasiveness and lack of customer service skills.
This unfortunate incident significantly altered my perception of the shop. The initial charm and unique treats were overshadowed by the unwelcoming attitude of the staff. Witnessing this uncomfortable interaction, coupled with the already steep prices, has dissuaded me from considering a return visit. Regrettably, my experience leaves me with no desire to give this shop a second chance.
In summary, the sweets shop's potential was marred by an employee's uninviting behavior, leading to a disappointing and disheartening visit. I'm afraid this will be a one-time visit for my companions and me, as the overall impression fell far short of what...
Read moreGuys, I promise you I'm not a (very) cheap person. But this place is legit the most expensive ice cream parlor I've ever been to. A single scoop of ice cream is $6. To have it in a waffle cone instead of a gross cake cone (like you'd get at McDonald's) costs an extra $1.50. Those aren't even the fancy dipped waffle cones either (I didn't see the price for those). So we're talking $7.50 for a regular waffle cone with a small amount of ice cream. Honestly, where the heck do you pay prices like that? Literally every other ice cream place in Door County is $1-3 cheaper than here. It's Cedar Crest ice cream, which is admittedly delicious and good quality, but again, most places in DC serve the same stuff for less. Heck, there's a place in Dundee, WI, that serves "baby" waffle cones of Cedar Crest that are honestly more like 4-scoop cones and they come in under $3 each. Insane. I guess if you can rationalize paying $7.50 for a waffle cone, good for you. But did I mention the prices of other ice cream options? Regular sundeas. Like, 1-topping sundeas: $9.95. Shakes and malts $9.95. I... I can't. All of this is before tax and before tip (which you should be tipping your service workers!). All I can say is that I hope to God the employees are making BANK working there (like, over $15 an hour before tips). Otherwise, if all that extra money is going into the pockets of the owners, I'm calling it like I see it: greed.
I felt too awkward to walk out once I walked in there to get ice cream, so I bought some, but know this, I'm never going back and I'm warning everyone I know not to go there and waste their money on the wildly...
