First things first, they couldn't have chosen a better location to put the rink. There's plenty of places nearby to eat and hangout, and it's just a noice area to walk around in general. I also rlly love the lights and decorations they put up; they look absolutely magical at night, especially if you get lucky and it snows.
The staff treated my family and I graciously, despite our racial and religious differences. Not a breath of prejudice in the air.
Masks are not mandatory upon visitors, but are mandatory upon staff. The admission fee and skate rental are super affordable, and they offer memberships & season passes for those who are interested. Also, they charge only $5 for high-quality, professional skate sharpening. So if you have your own skates but they need sharpening, definitely consider getting them sharpened here!
Staff are extremely friendly (and so dang GOOD at skatingāthey're willing to teach you the basics if you just ask them), they play awesome music, and their concession stand is dope. They offer so many things, from bottled water, hot chocolate and Powerade, to nachos, corndogs and personal pizzas... along with so much more.
This rink isn't exactly huge compared to most other rinks (because they have to set it up and then pack it up again when the season's over), but there's still plenty of room for everyone to move around w out it getting even the least bit overcrowded. But it would be nice if they would resurface the ice more often than they already do... maybe like every 2 hrs instead of the usual every 3-4 hrs. The ice is still skateable a few hours after they do it, but there's def something different about stepping onto fresh ice.
There's some convenient parking overlooking the entire rink, so you can watch your car w out having to worry about a thing. But if you have to park elsewhere fwr and are worried about break-ins or anything, there's a cop constantly patrolling the area to prevent that kind of stuff. They also have surveillance cameras overlooking the entire place.
The lockers are extremely accessibleāit's hard to miss them when they're put where they are. They only cost 50c to rent, and they're the perfect size to keep your shoes, your phone/wallet, a small/empty bag, and maybe a couple other items in there.
They don't allow outside food, but they seem chill w outside drinks.
They have a TV that plays movies such as Ice Age, Madagascar, Ratatouille, etc... fun to watch when you're sitting out ig but kinda frustrating when you drove all the way there AND paid for your kids' admission (or more for sk8 rental) and they get distracted by the tv when you just want them to skate.
The more agile, experienced skaters tend to come more towards the end of the day, so for the beginner or younger skaters, it's probably best to come earlier in the day, or shortly after they open, when there are fewer people on the ice.
We have a blast every time we come here. Looking forward to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, just as I entered and walked over to pick up skates with my two young sons, the girl at the counter asked if I needed help with putting on the wristbands and I said no, I was going to sit down and put them on after I put my bag and jacket down. I didnāt have a free hand to do it. Then, she again reminded me to make sure we put them on before skating. Well, yes, thatās exactly what I said I was going to do... put the wristbands on. Later on, I was helping my 5 year old try to get around the rink since it was his first time. (I didnāt have skates on) He decided he didnāt like the skate walker, so I walked ahead about 5 feet to put it away and not leave it in the way of other skaters. The same girl walked up to me and said I needed to get off the ice if I wasnāt helping my son. I told her that I WAS helping my son that was right behind me and was just putting the skate walker back. The tone was not friendly. Is this how you treat paying customers that are trying to have fun with their family? There were other adults on the ice chatting with one another and were clearly not helping children. But no one said anything. Then, the owner tapped me on the shoulder to tell me I couldnāt put my sonās skates on, on the green turf area. He also pointed at the sign that was not in my view when I was putting the skates on. But Why would you tap someone on the shoulder like that? Itās just rude. I wouldnāt return based off the bad customer experience. The rink was fairly small and overcrowded. The only plus was that the soft pretzels were pretty good. To have spent over $100 at the rink for the 7 of us and to be treated like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love our community and I think this is a great place to have in it. I also think that as part of the community it might be kind to consider that families have young kids and they are trying their best. The place offers skate sizes for tiny kids. Our 3 and 2 year old were not able to skate, cried and screamed as they were unable to get the hang of it and were inconsolable. We tried the skate trainer, tried being on the ice with them (skates and no skates). We TRIED. The manager said no refunds (for just our boys) because then we might think we could just skate a lap and then get our money back. Our children were sobbing in front of him. Clearly, not trying to trick anyone. The lack of grace and understanding (not the money) is disheartening at this time of year.
In response to the business...you offered two dollar coupons that we certainly couldn't bring them back to use any time soon. We appreciate the offer of coupons, but they weren't of any value to us in this season. We...
