This review is for the newest location near Top Golf and Cool Ray Field. We have been to the original location several times in Sugar Hill and decided to give this one a try since it was convenient to our activities the other night. We arrived on a Monday night at about 6:15 and were seated immediately. A young woman showed us to our table and served us drinks right away. We never saw her again. There was one young guy manning the bar, and serving all (3) tables. Our food came pretty promptly, but we were quite disappointed in a few things. First, the "hand cut fries" which are quite good at the original location were not what we were served - these were clearly pre-packaged frozen potato curls sprayed with starch and seasoning. Not what I would have ordered if I had known. Also - I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and asked for the ranch dressing on the side. What I got was a big bun with a tiny, single, fried chicken tender that was pathetically small and cooked until it was so tough it was hard to bite off a piece. The "ranch" was blue cheese. Despite there only being three tables, the poor waiter seemed frazzled and scurried around trying to get drinks and service for for everyone - he had no help at all. I finally waved him over and showed him the open sandwich and asked him if this was the way it was supposed to look - with a nearly burnt morsel of a single tender being swallowed up by a large hamburger bun. He affirmed that a single tender is what is supposed to be on the sandwich and shrugged. No apology or explanation or offer to substitute for something else. So we finished our meal, paid and left. I will never go back to this location and cannot recommend it. I felt bad for the guy because he clearly didn't have sufficient help running the place. There was no manager on the premises to whom we could alert to the deficiencies. Overall the food was very sub-par, and the service was also very poor. There are SO many other places to eat very close to this location - unless they turn this around quickly this one will not last long with this kind of food...
Read moreI'm rounding up to 3 stars but I had more of a 2.5 star experience.
The location is excellent and the restaurant construction is really nice. I liked the setup of the bar and although we didn't eat outside, the outdoor seating looks well kept and inviting. The cleanliness extends indoor to the dining area but I can't speak for the bar as I didn't go to that area during this visit.
The hostess was nice. Our server was also nice but when they were not at our table I had no clue where they were. They would check up on us and vanish.
My group was very disappointed with the food.
I ordered the fried tomato chicken sandwich and was pretty excited. While the sandwich was not terrible, it didn't satisfy. The chicken was on the tougher side. The Texas toast was good though. I got a side of broccoli that was steamed. A little bit of salt and pepper would go a long way on the broccoli.
Another person in my party got a Caesar salad with chicken. They said it was on the small side but fine. No croutons strangely enough.
Lastly, my child got a chicken nugget meal with a fruit cup for the side. Child got upset when they tasted the fruit cup (which was just mandarin oranges probably from a can) so I gave them a try and they were bad. I can't put my finger on it but they just didn't taste right. The chicken nuggets were on the tough side as well but the dipping sauce was pretty good. Fries were not hot or crispy but warm and soft.
I mentioned the weird taste of the fruit to our server and they apologized.
All in all, we were expecting fresh food but it all ended up tasting like it came straight from a Sysco truck.
If the food would have been maybe 30% cheaper it would have been more reasonable but at the current prices there are much better options.
Maybe it was an off day. The cocktails do look amazing but I don't plan on returning for...
Read moreI understand the need for a soft opening and I totally have grace as they work out the kinks. I’ll be back when the full menu is up and hopefully be able to leave a better review. The hostess stand had 5 or 6 young girls standing there which was a little weird to be bombarded with right when you walk in, but I’m sure that will get worked out. The server was fine but her recommendation for the prickly pear margarita was way off. My friend said she doesn’t like drinks that are too sweet but the server just gushed about how amazing the drink was. It was supppppper sweet even for me. I recently got back from Arizona and the prickly pear margarita tasted NOTHING like the amazing one I had there. Just like fake flavour and sweetener. Maybe work on the flavouring and give a warning about how sweet it is. When we went the small menu didn’t have anything we wanted (party of 4). The menu from the day before had all of the good items so we were pretty bummed. We heard great reviews about the chips and dip so we gave them a try. Chips weren’t anything special, weren’t even served warm. We got salsa and queso and the ratio of dip to chip was a TON of dip and a small amount of chips. We asked for more chips to finish off our still 1/2 - 2/3 full dips and were told there would be an extra charge. Either fix the ratio or don’t charge for extra chips. The beer menu had great options and prices which was a plus! We will be back to try again after the soft opening.
Also - if management reads this... make sure you are responding to Facebook posts and inquiries. I’ve seen a few unanswered questions which isn’t great for a brand...
