I had to give one star but wish I could give NONE. I have never in my 40 years been to an ER this horrible! I initially came in due to having severe chest pains on 6/16 around 10pm. My initial contact with someone was a rude man who was doing intake upon my arrival. He didnāt say hello or anything he asked me for my social as soon as I stepped up to the counter. I was given an EKG and and chest X-ray and told to wait in the lobby. I was in extreme pain but was left sitting in the waiting room for 3.5 hours so I left! I couldnāt take it anymore and I needed to lay down. Due to still having the same intense chest pains I returned the next morning. Again, they took me into the triage gave me an EKG and told me to wait in the lobby. After an hour I was called back by a nurse who took blood. I told her I am in severe pain in both my chest and head at this point. They said they would run test and she put me in a little cubby area that was covered by a sheet and told me yo wait in a chair. After being in the back for over an hour I called and asked for a blanket, 45 minutes went by and no blanket! In comes a registration person to get my insurance information. I asked if he could please give me a blanket. Got the blanket, gave him all of my information and once again was left sitting for hours! Finally I had enough and called and asked someone to please come and speak with me! I asked if they could please look into giving me something for the pain. I was told nothing was ordered. Despite me having asked for pain medicine. Finally I asked them to take my IV out so that I could leave. I encourage everyone if you have any form of medical emergency do NOT come to this ER and do not bring your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here on March 21st, 2019 at 815am and was treated worse than a wild animal in the ER waiting area. Worst abdominal pain I have ever experienced. Yes, I was loud, moaning, groaning, crying in immense pain and I felt such despair as I lay on the floor of the ER as I couldnāt sit up AT ALL! As tears flowed down my face and not even noticing others in the waiting area watching me in horror and disbelief, I lay there unaware that my clothing was raised, exposing my private body areas. I remember having a feeling of humiliation but not knowing how to NOT humiliate myself as I tried to fight the pain. I was finally allowed back to the assessment area, and I asked to lay down but they had an upright non mobile stationary chair that I was made to sit up the entire time. I was told that there was no gurney or bed for me as they donāt have this type of setup anymore. I was treated so inhumane and COLD hearted. No staff sympathized with me and I remember one nurse coming over and saying harshly āYou need to get up off the floor!ā Let me tell you, I am a prideful private woman and my dignity means so much to me, but that day it was stripped away and I feel as If I was treated like a criminal or an animal in Sugarland Texas At Methodist Hospital. I will never go back to that ER! I pray the staff there, that treated me like a dog will suffer a worse pain than that and will feel the disgrace and humiliation and despair as I did. In my career as a nurse ( even then) I have never been so heartless to a person or patient. Especially on their wedding day! Yes I was supposed to be married that...

I was waiting for someone to visit their grandma, so I observed this young lady managed over 12 people in about 20 minutes. I have maintained that people coming to see a health professional are not well and should be treated delicately. This young lady was phenomenal in compassion and professional handling of the patients checking in. Bravo
Unfortunately, I can not say the same thing about her counterpart sitting next to her, who handled 2. The CNA moving patient cart looked like she had had fun the night before and was rude to patients.
The Triage male person was professional and even waved to a young child who did not want to leave her grandma.
Healthcare associates must understand that the patients and their families are mentally in pain as well as physical hurt. There are many compassionate people, but there are also equal numbers of obnoxious ones .
HR needs to use the young lady at check-in as a model of acceptable behavior. I know some nurses are busy, but obnoxious behavior must be eliminated. BTW, I have many nurses in my circle, and they hear it from me about attitudes. Check-in is especially important in setting the tone.
BTW, I will never use HM as my provider after my experience at its Memorial...
