Apurva Fashions — Local services in Sunnyvale

This review is long overdue, but I absolutely LOVED this place and wanted to make time.

This is a residential family owned business. So dont be confused when you arrive in a residential area.

The couple that runs this business are super friendly, very knowledgeable, and have an incredible selection of casual to formal, youth/kids to adult, women and men. I wish I had more time to look through all their inventory!

I bought 2 dresses for my 2 daughters, 5yo and 8yo and they love them so much, they've been wearing them for formal occasions too. It's really great that an authentic lahenga can help encourage curiosity and participation in cultural events like Diwali, etc. as my kids have many Indian friends but aren't Indian themselves.

Compared to other places, I found their prices very reasonable given the quality, durability (fabric) and functionality of their garments. They were also able to make alterations then and there so we could take the garments home and wear them that evening.

Finally, and best experience of all, the couple mentioned they had children as well, but were grown. And they seemed to genuinely feel joy when they saw how happy the kids were with their new beautiful dresses. I love supporting local businesses for many reasons, not least of which is seeing the validation that independent business owners are in it to support their community and culture.

I needed an Indian outfit for a wedding and had no idea where to look. I visited a few places before coming to Apurva and it was a world of a difference going there. Navata is super sweet and kind and I appreciated her honest opinion and recommendation on what outfit worked best for my body type and event. Compared to the places I’ve visited, Apurva was half priced. After choosing a pre draped saree, she had the top tailored (tightening it and removing the sleeves) which took less than 5 minutes, and was included in the price of the saree. My partner and I are going to our friends wedding in India later this month. We didn't know where to start or really what to get. At Apurva, they were amazing! The shop is in their home and provides a comfortable environment to look and try on clothes. We were provided some delicious chai while we browsed. They guided us through the various fashions and styles. Their collection is so gorgeous- the clothes are high quality hand stitched and beautiful. They are incredibly well priced and tailor alterations were included in the cost.
