Not sure whats wrong with my Dad. I wanted to go to another Pho place on El Camino ( I forgot name) but Dad wants try new places. This place feels cheap. Dad ordered # 51 which is Pork & Shrimp combo. The Pork Chop was thin ( medium to small size) & it only comes with one shrimp. Ive never been to a restaurant where they only give you one piece of shrimp..how cheap can you be ( after I saw other review's picture, I realized that dish is kind of small). With one egg roll geez. For 17.50 they should have given him one more egg roll. I wish we found the other place I wanted on El Camino...was cheaper or had better overall ( Generous). The Pho I ordered was Ok ( # 11). Stock had enough flavour....it just did not seem super hot. Just little warm/hot. They serve ice water but never came back to check up on us ( I would have ask for hot water). But they only have one size for Pho ( and its kind of expensive). There is cheaper place in Cupertino ( Pho Hoa & Jazen T)...at the cupertino place their 14.99 is very Large, you could practically split that one, and they have smaller sizes for cheaper than 14.99 for Pho. And the drinks at that place is better. My Dad ordered a 6 dollar hot coffee and they served it after they served the food and it was not ready ( he had to wait 6 minutes for the coffee to drain into the paper cup). They should have had it drain before they made our food. It felt like there was little or no service. At the other place ( Jazen Tea) their drinks are made ready for you and much better tasting. at Jazen there is an amazing bubble tea with really good Tea flavour ( Jasmine or original) and they mix everything for you and seal it in a closed container...its just better tasting and feels like you get more. I really wish we found either the other Pho place on El Camino or went back to Cupertino for the Pho Hoa & Jazen place because they had better service there. The reason I wrote this review because when it came time to tip, they force Dad to give 18 percent. Most places give you a choice and dont force customer to give 18 percent for almost no service. This is why I wrote this review to let people know that there are places that give better service and dont force the customer 18 percent. This Pho #1 should be called #1 rip off place ( gives one shrimp for...
Read morePHO #1 was #1 in my heart. With cute service and ambiance this joint stole my heart! Our servers were really kind and attentive and it was a cute ambiance with colored comfy chairs placed at the tables. We started off with the iced Vietnamese coffee which was phenomenal. If you love a strong coffee flavor and lots of sweetness that is definitely your drink. After drinking the whole coffee I felt the caffeine and sugar coursing in me. It was so smooth and I loved the heavy coffee flavor. Then I got the crispy noodles with vegetables and tofu which was alright. The noodles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the sauce which was amazing providing really cool texture almost chop suey like. The sauce, vegetables and tofu were also good, but nothing special. Then I got the #15 and I loved the amount of meets given for only $15. The pho was really wholesome as the broth had lots of complex flavors with a sweet and sour flavor with loads of salt and beef flavor. The noodles were plentiful and were cooked the perfect amount. They also didn’t skimp on the meat which I hate when it happens at pho restaurants. Overall definitely give Pho #1 a try it was nothing special but definitely a consistent joint which I could enjoy thoroughly...
Read moreZero stars When we came to the restaurant it was absolutely empty. We waited until the guy came out and he had an unpleasant face and looked annoyed that we distracted him from whatever he was doing. When my son asked a question about the food in the menu he had an arrogant grin on his face and without saying a word he pointed at the menu and said nothing then walked away. Now he brings the “lean brisket pho” that in reality has absolutely ugly and fattening brisket cuts that I would not feed to a dog. I had to pull the fat off the meat .Then a girl comes out and starts spraying window cleaner while we are eating. The guy was on his phone ignoring my son when he asked for the bill.We sat waiting while he sat on his front chair about to fall asleep.I had enough so I stood up and walked up to pay the bill. All this time he did not talk or smile or have any reaction. This place made me and my son feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Just to add we drew 4/2 hours to get there, plus we were vey hungry. It’s not “1# pho”.I would eat somewhere else. Also I do not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good pho place that is family friendly, or...
