Came to this place for the Korean Fried chicken as they have drumsticks on the menu. Ordered medium size that consists of 10 drumsticks. The taste is rather disappointing. I wanted the chicken to stay crispy so asked if I can have it without the sauce and whether it will still be tasty without the sauce. The server reassured me that it will be tasty with no sauce and they strictly do not serve the sauce on the side. Also ordered the Japchae noodles as well. The drumsticks tasted very bland and again I asked if we can have sauce since I really didn’t expect it to be tasteless. Another server reiterated that they can drizzle the sauce over it and my friend picked the soy garlic and yummy yum. The sauce added taste to the chicken but the soy garlic was awfully sweet. The other flavor was ok. Next came the Japchae noodles which literally tasted the same as the soy garlic sauce and was overtly sweet. It is one of the worst Japchae noodles I ever had. Anyway, I will definitely not return for the food. I understand that the chicken needs to be prepared a certain way since it is a franchise/chain restaurant to keep to the consistency of what the brand is. But the taste of the sauce in this case definitely needs some adjustments. I’m a big fan of Korean food and Korean Fried Chicken. This to me is far from authentic. The chicken definitely needs to have sauce to taste better…but better sauce. However, I like to mention that the staff at this location is very friendly which kind of made up for the bad tasting food. I would not recommend going there if you want authentic/good Korean Fried Chicken. There are other restaurant and I noticed they have 1 competitor right outside across the parking lot. I had wanted to try this brand though, especially since they have drumsticks on the menu that most places chose to remove from their menu.

This is my first visit to Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant. I visited the one located in E. El Camino Real near Sunnyvale. It is tucked in a corner in a shopping strip. The ambience is mediocre but the food items were very delicious. I ordered Takoyaki (Octopus Dumplings) for starters, a plate of boneless chicken wings, Bull Dak and an order of Fries. The chicken wings were very Juicy and flavorful a bit on the sweeter side for Soy Garlic flavor. The fries tasted fresh. The Bull Dak though advertised as spicy could use some more chilly heat and some extra mozzarella cheese but tasted good. The waiting staff were very friendly and the order was delivered to the table in a reasonable timeframe. Though I have not tried their other dishes like Bulgogi, Bonchon wrap, etc., overall, I give a thumbs up to this Korean Fried Chicken chain.

I love Bon Chon. I've been eating here for years. They used to be very busy but recently it's not as busy, maybe because they opened other locations. I always order Small wings half & half with radish and potstickers half & half (spicy and garlic soy). That's enough for 2 people. They're both very good!! I like the flavors. I wish they are more generous with the sauce because that's the best part and sometimes the wings aren't covered fully with sauce. Spicy flavor is actually spicy (not white spicy) so you might not want to order it if you can't handle spicy food. They recently introduced a new flavor called Yang Yum. It's more flavorful than the 2 existing flavors and way less spicy. I'll select just this flavor next time.

My first yelp review ever. I'm usually ridiculously lazy to write a review but I will make an exception. This Bon Chon was extremely disappointing (I've been to the 1 in Los Angeles and I absolutely loved it but I heard that they closed down that location recently). Due to the lack of competition in San Jose, I can understand how they are doing well. But I will not be surprised if this location closes down soon. The quality of the food was pretty decent from what I remember (it's been at least 6 months since eating here). I wish I could offer a more up to date review on the food itself but I can't... because I was never served last time. I waited and waited for an hour after the waitress took my order. She never checked up on me ONCE. I know that after I sat down, the place started to get busy so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited. But I couldn't wait any longer so I tried to ask her for an update on the food, and immediately the waitress cuts me off and says she will check on it. About 15 minutes later, nothing... So I just got up and went to the cashier to pay for my drink and fries then the waitress came running up to me and says that they lost my ticket. LOST THE TICKET??? But even then I wasn't mad, I just didn't want to wait any longer and then I realized that the waitress never even apologized for the delay. Normally I would have just let it go but her attitude just stunned me. I receive better service at McDonald's than here. I am more disgruntled at the owner of the place than the waitress though. Doing nothing to fix the issue of having waitresses with no manner and a kitchen full of incompetent people. People might like your food but sooner or later everyone will realize how horrible your service is...

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ! ! !

I can not hate this place more, this is the worst dinning experience I've ever had in the bay area. I mean I've been to a LOT of restaurants, and I normally don't give 1 star reviews.

Oh boy, where to even begin with, I hate pretty much everything in this restaurant, the food, the service, the hygiene, the seating, the decor...

The place is so jam-packed and ill-smelled, the hygiene is awful, our seat is next to the restroom where you cannot help but notice the smell and dirty walls. There's even dirty cloth on the floor!!

The waitress was so rude when she saw us bringing in a bubble tea from the tea place next door. She said they cannot have outside beverages, not even if I just don't drink it and leave it on the table, and she says it with a very disrespectful tone. They need the beverage to be put on the floor which is GREASY AND DISGUSTING, or to be put in the refrigerator. Of course we didn't agree. And the waitress said she would have to ask the manager. And the manager comes, even ruder than the waitress, he says “Don't you see there is a big ass sign right there?!” Excuse me?!?! This is how a manager treat his customer?!?!

The food was not good either, I've been to 4-5 Bonchon Chicken before, and this place just not as good as others. The meat is tough and overcooked, not as flavorful as other Bonchons, especially the spicy ones.

We were only half way through our meal, and there's been three waitresses wanting to kick us out by asking "do you need a box to go or are you still working on it."

I would never go to this...
