My sister and I visited on a Thursday night. We were a bit worried it might be dead but no need to worry. Two Bachelorette parties showed up and an anniversary party to name but a few. The place was busy but not packed.
The piano players were fabulous! It turned out to be "Sad Girl" Thursday. In other words ...lots of sad girl tunes along with lots of angry girl music lol.
Being a child of the '80's I tried to spice things up with some '80's Hair Band music. The musicians were amazing! I have to say i was a bit surprised they didn't know Bon Jovi "One Wild Night". I mean the song is iconic.
I also requested "I Am Woman" in honor of all the emotional girl feelings going on in the room. My alternate choice was "Rose Garden" by Lyn Anderson. Both were shot down. I thought the female performer told me the songs were out of her range vocally however when I was asked to pick a new song I was told by the male performer who was giving the regular male performer a break, they know over 3000 songs so if I picked one they didn't know, it was on me. Lol. Really? I realized it was said in a joking manner, however all three of the songs i requested are rather iconic. Then as we were leaving I heard the female performer shoot down someone's request for Lionel Richie. I thought that part was a bit sad.
Every other dealing piano establishment I have visited never turned down a song. As a matter of fact one gentleman took on " Bark at the Moon" by Ozzy. He didn't know it but it gave it a whirl and nailed it. I don't mean to be critical, I was just a bit disappointed is all.
Zack nailed "Thunderstruck", "Talk Dirty to Me", I can't remember the name of the M&M song he did for my sis and "Livin on a Prayer". You are incredibly talented when it comes to ballads as well! I haven't heard " Faithfully " done so well in a long time! Congratulations on being so talented!
To the female performer, I am so, so sorry I didn't catch your name but you did a excellent job on the sad and angry girl music! You have an amazing voice and playing talent! I'm a bit jealous! I used to perform prior to developing tumors in lungs. I can really appreciate what it takes to do what you do!
Thank you everyone for such a great night! I will definitely come back the next...
Read moreThe single star is for how amazing the pianists did, their performance and stage presence was phenomenal. The other 4 stars were omitted for two reasons, one being that when we got there, the waitress we had took our drink orders but I needed a water before I ordered a drink. She brought drinks over, no water but told me directly "I'm bringing water for the table next okay?" After an hour, no water had been brought for the group and she finally came and I asked for a water again and she brought me one. Second reason is because we had a group of 8 for a birthday party. My partner ran a bit behind for the group so he wasn't there when we got there. I gave him my friend's first name thinking he could just use that since when we got there, 2 of our party had made it already and when we told them we had a table, they said we could just go find our group. Unfortunately, they decided to give my partner a hard time when he got there, demanded he give a last name or pay the cover charge. He was unable to call me to let me know he was there due to his phone having bad service in that area so he couldn't even let me know until he got home. I tried getting a refund and the guy I spoke to at the front told the old "I'll handle it. I'll talk to my manager" line and then never spoke to me the rest of the night, let alone made eye contact. I personally feel that both of these situations could have been handled better but instead of really caring for their new influx of customers due to the mandate being lifted, they'd rather make a first impression like that.
TL;DR waitress could have been more prompt with keeping her table hydrated and front door guys need to choose either verifying EVERYONE in the group or letting anyone in, you can't choose both without...
Read moreThe manager, servers, host, and even security were all great. First- make reservations online for a Friday or Saturday. Yes, you do pay a $10 per person cover to do so. Although, it was worth making sure to have a table. Was sat at a table, where water was dripping from the ceiling- manager came as we didn't want people to slip and fall and he moved us. You can bring outside food in (no liquids)-as they don't serve food. I actually was 100% ok with that! The three different performers were all very talented, played great, and had amazing personalities. You can fill out music requests and walk it on stage (with $love$) or you could pay to have a song skipped- reason for the "How much" slogan on their shirts.
Reason for only four stars----- Requested a song for my wife with $30 of "love" ($20 is like the min.). Request made roughly two hours in and well after crazy people shelling out higher money requests. My request was ignored/not played and no idea why= no love back to me I guess! So let others shell out money for requests. See the oh so amazing videos of a bridal party (yeah, a bridal party) and their drunken dancing, was epic! I actually enjoyed all the songs. Just didn't get mine.
The drinks...... Yes, it's a club.... Yes, they charge more than they should.... Yes, they probably don't do full pours - without just topping off with a mixer. They even have a "bucket" drink like that pizza place (picture). However, the drinks were just "ok" and nothing to rave about.
So if you are looking for a fun time. Listening to dueling pianos, laughing at drunks, and singing your heart out! Go here! I will say, I liked this location better than the Seattle one- although I heard they moved buildings for the Seattle...
