I have shoped at this location practically everyday for the last two years. I have always found their quality of goods to be par with any other grocer as well their produce typically is quite nice. Usually the staff are kind and respectful as well as helpful. Except for this evening. It was Christmas Eve and they had an underage teenage girl t the door telling people they were closing soon, which is all well and fine. The problem arose when a gentleman went to enter the store with more in the ten minutes until closing time. The employee was incredibly rude telling the man that "they all wanted to go spend time with their families" which in itself isn't outrageous. When the man explained he just needed one item the employee yelled at him as he entered the store" you had all day to do this". Firstly maybe he didn't,maybe he was working just like her. I could feel the amount of disrespect in her voice from across the entryway. As I left I commented that she had been incredibly rude and should show customers a basic respect out of gratitude for their business. She then yelled at me from across the parking lot" thank you for calling me rude" to which I just shook my head and responded " thanks for being so rude I guess" to which she gain screamed " your welcome!!" Now I know this is just an immature child that probably does not understand that without loyal customers businesses like reasons would fail to exist especially when a wal mart is directly across the street and offers products at a much lower price. People like myself close to pay a little more to show support for smaller retailer's like reasons but after the insanely rude and upsetting interactions with the child employee I will just give all my hard earned money and business to the mega retailer next door. Not that I especially wanted to but after being treated with such blatant disrespect I don't want to support them anymore. It may do them well to remind the highschool kids they employ that customers are what py the bills and their payroll checks. Anyways, too bad. I don't especially like Walmart but I absolutely hate patronizing a store that not only does not value my business but is so outwardly...
Read moreReasors is where you go in Tahlequah if you don't want to suffer through the abuses of a visit to Walmart. I think if Mr. Reasor saw some of the things going on in his Tahlequah store he would be very disappointed. You expect to pay a generous markup on products at Reasor's. Because of this you also expect certain standards to be kept. On more than one occasion I have arrived home with my groceries and found several items to be expired-----that is---well past the recommended date for consumption. This has occurred with frozen foods, dairy foods and foods from the case containing lunch meat. You shouldn't pay a huge mark up for expired food. Period.
Something else that drives me mad is the broken freezer case in the back of the store. Instead of replacing it they keep nursing it along, as though it has the flu and might recover. The case is Not Going to Get Well! They keep the waffles and pancakes that have defrosted and just refreeze them. You can't tell at first but by the time you reach the check out station the boxes are wet. When you try to toast the waffles they come out soggy and cardboard like. They are awful.
On a brighter note: the meat at Reasor's is GREAT! The meat cutters are experienced, knowledgeable people that have answers for every meat cooking question you may ever have. They know how to cook every cut of meat, how to save money by preparing cheaper cuts certain ways. Don't walk past these guys thinking they are there just to wrap your order in white paper. They are my saving grace in the kitchen and can be yours, also! They get my 5 stars!
The produce is also excellent and they try whenever possible to get “locally produced” produce. That’s fresh. And it supports our community. I also saw local pasta sauce, and locally roasted coffee there last week. They are giving it their best and we owe it to them to show up and partake if we can. Running a self owned local business is hard and to find support like Reasor's...
Read moreI love Reasor's. It's not quite the same as it was 30 years ago but it tries really hard. And although the prices may be a tad higher? You'll always get what you need and have it be in stock. It will be where you look for it.... And I don't think I have waited in line there yet. Please don't get rid of all your checkers.
A SIXTH ⭐ for not making me go next door to the dreaded dg for my pet supplies such as food.
Most grocery stores mark these up so badly and it's so unfair. Your prices are not only reasonable on pet food they are competitive. Toys not so much but that's okay! I've still paid to save the trip elsewhere. AND THANK YOU FOR STAYING OPEN UNTIL 11:00 WHEN THE REST OF THE SMALL TOWN CLOSES UP AROUND 9:00 OR 10:00. YOU HAVE BEEN A GODSEND AND A LIFESAVER when I work late.
I'm sure cost wise it doesn't make any sense to stay open an extra hour with staff and lights etc,.... But to the customers like me? it...
