Update: I found out that after I left, the wait staff apologized to the folks at the table and took care of them nicely. That’s all I wanted to see. It’s one thing to be understaffed for an un expected large crowd, but everyone is willing to roll with it as long as there’s curtesy. Y’all redeemed with my friends and I will definitely be back cause I really do want to try one of those big bloody Mary’s!! Again, thank you for making it right with them, they tend to show up and support anytime I’m playing or for an event like Sunday, with the songwriters.
Prior review: Unfortunately the staff seemed overwhelmed with an unexpected full house. I came there to perform and to enjoy the drinks and food. It was a songwriter’s day. No one came to take my order, then a young server came by with water for other folks at the table and I had to call him back as he speedily left, so that I could ask for a menu. He finally came back with one but turned and left so fast that I couldn’t even order a drink. My friends at the table had been there for hours and said they’d ordered 1 1/2 hours ago and still no food. I waited patiently but the server never came back. One of the ladies finally went to the bar to ask where their order was, as newer arrivals were getting served. She was told they’d lost her order, that was five orders off the breakfast menu. She was told it’d be another 30 mins. Two hours into it, she went back and said she still didn’t have her orders. She was told they’d stopped serving the breakfast. And then she must have complained because the person making the food told her that if she was going to cop an attitude to order from door dash.
I still hadn’t even been asked for my order and I’d been there almost three hours without a drink or food.
I’ gave 3 stars based on the food that I did see, it looked great, and 5 stars for atmosphere. But being I was never served nor asked if I needed anything, and knowing that the whole table I was sitting at, five people, were never served, for now, it’s 1 star for that.(Update, you took care of the table after I left and gave apologies. That makes me like you all very very much. That’s a good thing to do! So I upgraded the review to 5 stars)
I’ll still give y’all a try again, I really would like to try the food and drinks, but I had to leave, drive 30 mins to get home, and finally ate at my house close to 4 pm. I went to your place hungry and to order your brunch. Was shaky and famished by the time I got home.
Please don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just being honest with my first experience at your place. I see other rave reviews and I know Y’all have something special going on here, and I’d love to come back, perform, and bring my followers for a great experience. I hope this perspective helps a bit. Hungry but...
Read moreThe new ownership is nothing short of wonderful. Took my family and a friend out for brunch after meeting the friendly owner at Tarpon Distillery. Where to start. The atmosphere is laid back and upscale at the same time. Unique touches and presentation abound from the high-top booths to the bottled greenery to the chalkboard menu art. We were the only table seated for a time and had the pleasure of one on one attention from the award winning chef who walked us through the menu and it's inspirations. We had a picky eater with us who asked for simple French toast off menu. In the end the creation the chef dreamed up on the fly wound up being the favorite of the table, absolutely wowing each who indulged a bite of the battered peanut butter-whipped cream french toast. The wings were cooked to crispy perfection, the What The Cluck was monstrous in size and flavor with perfect breading and amazing house-bacon and the Cuban Hotbrown was a mash-up between rich southern comfort and a killer Cuban sandwich anchored by a decadent hollandaise. Even the micro-greens seemed to have been picked from the garden just for our orders. This is to say nothing of the incredible bloody Mary's. Would rate 10 stars if I could. We will absolutely be back with more friends. For now this place is a hidden gem with brilliantly cut food facets. However I sincerely hope there is an hour wait next time we pop in. This crew will have earned every minute and notoriety is only a matter of time. Until then the Bloody Bouquet will be on my mind. Thanks for an...
Read moreIt truly pains me to give such a rating but it is an honest and fair rating. This comes with consideration that I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years and have always absolutely loved the cha cha sandwich. I was was very eager to try it again since it was closed for so long for renovation and now under new ownership but only to receive RAW CHICKEN in our cha cha sandwiches. Never in my life have I had such a thing happen. Clearly shows that whoever made it doesn’t really know what they’re doing.
It’s also sadly just not as good as it was before, the flavor of it is good but not wow like it was before. I don’t know what is different about it but they should really consider going back to how it was before.
If you’re a fan of the old Muzzie’s you’ll be surprised to see how much prices have jumped, it’s nearly double the price for half the portion it used to be.
As for the renovation, it’s nice and all but it doesn’t really suit the place and the booths are incredibly awkward to be sitting so close back to back with someone. It also lost the small town charm it had before the renovation - along with giving jobs to the local students in the community. Sad to say that this place just isn’t the same anymore and while I know change can be good, this one just isn’t…very sadly so. I would’ve put one star had it not been for the history of what this place once was and the new cha cha is decent tasting but just doesn’t have any wow...
