I ordered 5 dozen of tamales for Christmas and the chicken tamales were bad!!!! They smelled and by the time I realized it my 9 year old daughter had eaten them and got really sick for two days straight. I called the store within a couple of hours of picking them up and let one of the employees know I was going to get them replaced but we kept finding bad tamales and at this point no one wanted to eat anymore in fear of them also being bad. I decided I no longer wanted any more tamales because at this point Iām disgusted I went back to the store with all the tamales but just wanting to show them that no one ended up eating them after the bad experience and the owner was very rude he made it seem like I was trying to come up on something but thankfully I donāt have the need to do that. Iām fortunate enough to be able to get what I want without having to scam anyone. I hope no one else experiences this and I just want LA FAVORITA to do better I trusted you with my Christmas Dinner and you let me down. I will add a picture of the smelly tamales that no one ate I will not be returning to this place ever again!! DONT BUY TAMALES FROM THIS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my favorite secret spot in town. Every-time I tell someone about it, they are like "Oh, that place?!" Because they have driven by and know where it is but they have no idea how wonderful it is inside! We love to stop in and grab salsa, rice and beans, maybe some limes and cilantro too, on Tuesdays (of course)... but we find ourselves in the bakery section filling bags with traditional Mexican breads for the next morning. And if one of my kids was really good that day, we will treat ourselves to ice cream. This ice cream just might be the BEST part of this market. It is delicate and creamy, super flavorful and offers interesting and fun options: passionfruit, guanabana, cotton candy, Ferraro Rocher, almond, and they change often. They have regular cones, dipped cones, waffle cones and cups. Grab a fresh juice if you are feeling like you need something refreshing instead, they have a great selection of those too. No pictures yet (I will update next time I am there) because my hands were full holding my ice cream!
Pro Tip: Grab a few of the fresh salsas and mix them to get your personal heat ratio, these can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got a really tasty and large beef and cheese quesadilla here a couple weeks ago. It was very reasonably priced. Nice salsa on the side for dipping. I'll definitely be back to try other items. When I was there at lunchtime many people were waiting to pick up their to-go orders so I waited close to a half hour for my food to be ready. This place, at the end of a little strip mall, seems to be very popular with locals.
Ths is a large hispanic grocery store with a fresh meat counter, a counter for hot food to-go, ice cream stand, lots of fresh produce and other specialty areas. The bakery section is just a rack of shelves in the grocery store. I didn't think the selection was very extensive but I was also there after breakfast time. Staff was good about wearing masks but the aisles are very narrow and crowded so if you need more space around you come at an off time or don't...
