At least Temecula offers a few places for the community to go, whether its a family environment or a couple that wants to get out for a little while to take a stroll around a pond to enjoy a little scenery and feed the ducks and get some fresh air at a local park, this is an ideal area. Is is necessary for this specific location to have more of the community vibe since there are a lot of new apartments that are next to each other in rows that are more like a facade for people who want a change of scenery, however still have to pay the same exact price as I would in the San Diego area as opposed to a few years ago when it was actually a few hundred dollar price difference. At this time, I definitely notice and appreciate any type of thought for a structure to provide a place for people to get out of their apartments and relax for an hour or two with their families, friends and significant other. Hope they invest into more community like structures for...
Read moreI love Temecula Duck Pond, I like to bring people Who visit me from out of town, so they can enjoy it as much as I do.
I love taking my walks around the pond, I enjoy looking at all the ducks and turtles that live ther.
There is also a memorial for all the soldier's that have fought and lost their or lives or missing in combat. Very beautiful!
There is also a dedication to our sister city in Japan.
If you get hungry while visiting the Duck Pond, there is a greatly good restaurant just a few feet away, called Oscar's Brewing Company. The food is very delicious.
During Christmas holiday season they also decorate a huge pine tree with Christmas Lights and a large star on top, a nativity scene, and a menorah on both sides of the tree. Which is set in the southwest corner of the Duck Pond, it can be seen on the corner of Rancho California Rd and Ynez Rd. At night they are lit up, and it looks beautiful! It's a great place to visit either alone or...
Read morePark is scenic with many sculptures but there is nothing here for kids to do. Feeding the ducks is discouraged. Fishing is not allowed. There is no playground, or structures for kids to climb. I guess it can be a nice place to have a picnic so there is that.
We do enjoy eating at Pat & Oscars and walking around the pond after. The park displays seasonal lights and displays in the winter which i think is a great way of showing Temecula cares about the holidays.
I definitely feel like there should be something to keep kids entertained here for a park as popular and located in the center of town. If temecula purchased the adjacent empty lot to expand the park and build play structures, sports fields, hillside amphitheater, or hiking/walking trails this place could be a fun destination to visit after dining in the area or shoping...
