If you’re looking for a pickleball experience that’s equal parts competitive and heartwarming, look no further than Ace Pickleball Club. I competed in their Mixed Doubles Tournament in May, and let me tell you—it was not just a tournament, it was an event.
First, let’s talk organization: smooth check-in, friendly staff, and zero confusion. That alone is a win. But the real kicker? Before we even hit the courts, a lady stepped up and sang the national anthem—and suddenly, I found myself with goosebumps before a game I was still mentally preparing for.
Then, there’s Jim, the owner, who is basically Ace’s unofficial ambassador. He walked around, blending in with the players and spectators, casually chatting like he was just another friendly face. But his stories? Legendary. He told us how he once played at another facility that had to shut down during a tournament—but not Ace. Nope, this place only holds tournaments for members and never shuts down for outsiders. That’s commitment.
The Magnolia Ace Pickleball facility? Spotless. Cold. Pristine. If I could bottle up that crisp air-conditioning and take it home, I would. Every single staff member was welcoming, helpful, and somehow not overwhelmed by the chaos of tournament day.
Post-tournament, Ace didn’t just send us on our merry way—they handed out food vouchers (which, let’s be real, is peak hospitality), and that’s when I met Mookie, Jim’s son. Just as friendly, just as engaged, just as committed to making sure everyone felt valued.
Oh, and speaking of Jim—his announcer voice? Incredible. I don’t know what vocal magic he has, but announcing the Championship Court players sounded like something straight out of a professional sports broadcast.
Another standout feature? Cameras on certain courts that allow you to record your matches! One week after the tournament, Ace sent us a letter thanking us for participating and shared our game footage. Seeing my pickleball technique—and questionable footwork—in crisp video quality was equal parts enlightening and hilarious.
And speaking of fair play, Paul, the Championship Court referee, deserves serious recognition. He kept the game running smoothly, provided helpful feedback afterward, and—most importantly—wasn’t afraid to call out my partner for a foot fault in the kitchen (which, let’s be honest, needed to be said!). His professionalism and fairness made a huge difference in the quality of play, ensuring everyone competed at their best while still having a great time.
In short, if you want a top-tier facility, amazing tournaments, and a community that genuinely cares, Ace Pickleball Club in Magnolia is the place to be. Whether you're here to meet people, play at a high level, or just enjoy the pickleball experience without feeling like an outsider, this place delivers.

Read moreHere is my review of ACE Pickleball Club at Magnolia after 1 month of being a permanent club member and my following reasons for giving a well-deserving 5 stars review: As a converted intermediate tennis player living in The Woodlands, I am looking for 1/ Nearby indoor location, well maintained facility. 2/ A club where I can train, improve continuously my games and be able to play on regular basis with a highly skilled player. ACE at Magnolia has checked all the boxes for me. Good location with premium facilities. I cannot agree more with others’ comments on how well maintained, sparkling clean, good vibe. You feel good when you walk in. The staff is very helpful, helpful, and skillful who is always willing to go extra mile to help me to do Warm up, setting up the Ball machine, offer honest feedback on my shots and game. The Titan ball machine (free for members) is huge added value. You can reserve a machine and practice at your own pace. Members of ACE are extremely inclusive and helpful to new members. I am very happy to play with them on regular basis. Paul, one of the club staff, is very generous with his time, helping us to organize our matches plays and offer extra drills. We cannot thank him enough.
I competed Men Double ACE Championship Serie yesterday (amazing event organization) and got very encouraging 2nd place.
After 1 month of being a permanent member, my games has been much improved, burn 3 kg, got 2nd place in the tournament, meet amazing people. I cannot ask for more. Having said that, there are things that can be improved to attract more plays from the community. o More attractive and flexibility on membership fee (family membership, referral, more passes offered to the members. o Lighting enhancement at certain areas of the court would be great. Well done...

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a clean, upscale environment that feels more like a boutique fitness club than a typical sports complex.
