Mei Wei — Restaurant in The Woodlands

I've been here several times. I don't understand why I have not written a review for this place because this place has always taken care of me and my boyfriend everytime we go. I always order the Sesame Chicken with fried rice and special Wonton soup while my boyfriend gets Shrimp fried rice or fried rice with shrimp (which ever it is) and a large meso soup. We used to order delivery but then we moved 30 minutes out to where that's not really an option. Food has always been good, served hot. Sesame chicken always comes swimming in Sesame chicken sauces that I enjoy keeping to try it at home on non batter chicken with how much is left over. Portion sizes are okay for the prices (I've seen bigger and I've seen smaller for the same price), but according to how much a person is supposed to eat in a day they're big. According to what I eat, they are just right because they give me a meal for the next day :)

The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed yet it usually has weird country music, maybe they are trying to do that because it's in Magnolia, Texas? Either way the music is soft enough to where you would have to be listening to even notice. Restaurant has also always been clean. I would say 1 out of the 20 (maybe more or less) times we've been there we received dirty silverware. I pointed it out to our waiter and the solution was promptly solved! As someone who worked as a server for a while and a fast food cashier, most silverware is just put through a machine so even machines have problems sometimes. We have never had to wait an extended period of time for our food or even wait to be seated.

This is my favourite restaurant in the whole world. The staff is friendly enough to lighten up anyones day but not so friendly that they bother you. You know, like that one waiter who insists in making funny remarks and small talk but you really dont feel like coming up with stuff to say so youre like "yeah, haha" to her every comment while you wait for her to leave cause youd rather be talking to that other person you came with. Well thats not them, they will serve you with a truthful smile and a positive tone and will engage in small talk only if you induce it. The food is majestic, the flavours are strong and flow very well, and the texture of the food is matched only by the presentation of the dish (which ill admit its not always the best). The prices are very reasonable considering what you get. The atmosphere of the place is dark and silent with gentle background music that lets you hear the other person across the table yet doesnt let anybody else outside the table hear what you say (this is when its not full, which it usually isnt since most people order from the very fast take out/delivery). I think i speak for everyone when i say that nobody likes a restaurant with music so loud that you actually need to lean in and, goodness forbid it, have to say "what did you say?" In conclusion: The food is excellent, the service is perfect, the place is elegant and quiet. Its just a great...

Wow just wow ,they will steal your money and pretend like it's your fault guys please stay away from this restaurant, unless your okay with giving free money away. Today I called for "take out" , from this restaurant I thought everything was fine and as I give my card number to the gentleman on the phone just like normal, not even 4 minutes later he told me that the card was declined, first thing I thought was let me check my account, because I seriously thought it was my fault , so long story short I called my bank and I had well over enough in my account. So I sat there puzzled ? So I called again and he told me the same thing once again "card declined" ? Quickly I drove there after another call and physical checking my account and everything was okay with my account ....... But then I realized that they took out the transaction, so I bounce into the restaurant, to ask why was money taken out of my account and why did they lie about the decline transaction ? The older gentleman told me , it's not there fault and they refused to give me a refund and didn't even give me my damn food that I payed for ...... What the hell ,!!!!! So I double check again and it turns out they did take it out and I have wait 10 business day to get my money back what a headache. Please Avoid...
