Great selection of organic produce and other quality products at good prices. I drive out of my way to shop here. Friendly staff.
UPDATE 9/15/2024 - A longtime customer, I am unsure if I'll shop at this location any longer. Two weeks ago, I purchased 4 varieties of an expensive cereal advertised on sale. On my receipt, I noticed I'd been charged full price for each of them (an $8 difference). It took a very long time for the cashier and manager to figure out how best to process the adjustment and then have me sign a return slip. The cashier pointed out that had I mentioned something before I paid it would have been quicker and easier. When I got to my car, I noticed that I'd also been charged for a free sample they were giving out. I went back to ask for a refund and waited a few more minutes for them to process it.
At home yesterday, I opened one box of the 4 cereals I’d purchased on sale only to find it stale, mushy, and inedible, one month out from the expiration date. I took the full box back, and when I approached the cashier there was no one in line, yet she made no initial eye contact, let alone greeting me, and carried on a conversation with another employee across the checkout aisle. When she did address me, she was nice enough about the return and called the manager for an override. The manager asked if I had a receipt and I told her it hadn’t occurred to me to keep a receipt (I’d purchased that brand before and had expected it to be fresh) but that I had the card I used to pay for it, which most stores can use to look up a transaction (also my phone number is registered with their rewards system). She paused and then asked me how long ago I’d purchased it. I told her two weeks, and she said they don’t usually accept returns without a receipt, so I’d have to get an item of equal value to exchange it for. I had come there to shop, so that was no problem. When I checked out and got back to my car, I realized the cashier had shortchanged the credit, changing the price of one of my new purchases to the price of the returned item - so instead of crediting me for the price of the returned item, she credited me for the difference between the returned item and the new item. I took the receipt back into the store, waited patiently while she checked out another customer - no eye contact or acknowledgment whatsoever - and then I had to just leave or I would have been late for an event.
Also, a minor issue: When the cashier had asked if I’d like to donate $5, $10, or $20 to some charity without any upfront description of what the cause is and I declined, she replied with “no worries!”. The fact is I donate to certain charities, but I’m not “worried” about saying no to others.
And finally, I’ve filled out at least two comment cards and have inquired politely in person, months apart, requesting a certain item in their bulk section that's constantly out of stock, but still it’s only available during weekdays, always sold out on the weekends. I can rarely get there on a weekday, and it seems like it would be an easy thing to spread out supply throughout the week to avoid empty shelves on the weekend.
Bottom line, always make eye contact with the customer; don’t blame the customer when you make mistakes; take responsibility and apologize; listen to the customer’s requests; treat the customer...
Read moreGood Day! Sorry to post a one I had no other choice to not selecting Zero. I shop at the this location all the time and as we know it is very expensive to shop there. I had called a night before to hold the Himalayan Crystals Salt night light and I want 10. The lady was kind enough to do that. Today, went at 9 am to pick up the lights and Maggie who end up helping me yelling she can't find them and very rude and unfriendly person. I am an advocate of wearing mask and I was wearing my mask, just pulled it down so she can understand me and hear me clear since she could find my items and we were 6 feet distance and she yells at me put your mask on. That was the first unethical way of speaking and second the night lights were placed on the register for me the cashier found them but she was arguing with me she can't find them 2nd unethical attitude. I got home and plug my lights and one of the lights was broken and not working, I took back to exchange it and I decided to purchase another one. She made me feel like I was stealing the one I took back to exchange. 3rd thing with Maggie, as a paid customer and with their store item damaged made me feel uncomfortable with my exchange, she really needs to be trained to talk to customer properly. I don't know if I will want to go back to this store again, I spend $150 just by one visit. She also needs to tone her voice down and not yell across the store so loud, we're not in kindergarten or play ground, people who come to Natural Grocers are grown adults and with respect. I will call tomorrow morning and talk to Store Manager Andrea, I never write this kind of review but she pushed my limits on the 3rd time making me uncomfortable...
Read moreI love the idea of this market. I have now shopped at 3 of these in Oregon. The "pharmacy" section is nothing short of amazing. Selection and variety of all other grocery items is relatively huge. It's hard for me to tell during these days of supply chain woes, but I feel like prices here are not as competitive as they could be. There are a few things that are priced very well, but it feels a little bit painful to afford many other things. On the other hand, the staff in all the stores I visited are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Especially when I'm looking for something special in the "pharmacy" section, that facet is something that I truly appreciate. I will not be a stranger to this market. If nothing else, then I am highly inspired to shop and eat more healthfully when I'm cruising the aisles here. [Update 11/29/2022] It's happening. I'm shopping here more and more, and loving it. Best place to find your perfect protein powder. Big hint: Sign up for their NPower rewards program. I just did today. [Update 4/23/2023] By now, I am a regular customer here, and loving it. I still have so much more of the store to discover. The other day, they just gave me a brand new shopping bag. Thank you! [Update 1/15/2024] I really love it when one or more of the kombucha brands goes on...
