You ever walk in a place and get a sense of home or that you belong. You know the Norm effect. A place “where everyone knows your name” If no I suggest you take a ride down Sheridan drive to the North Town plaza and walk into the open doors of Caputi’s liquor store.
With thousands of choices for any spirit and wine you are looking Caputi’s has the best selection around. You could get lost in the rows of distilled delights. Though the selection is vast don’t get intimidated by the over flowing bounty of choices Caputi’s is staffed to the gills with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Whether it’s a wine from the old world or a bourbon from a barrel Caputi’s has it. It’s like having your own personal liquor cabinet with over 400 thousand bottles to choose from. Not only will they find you the right bottle but they will find the best price because to put it simply Caputi’s cares. I remember a Miracle on 34th street moment when I was looking for a rare bottle and Caputi’s was sold out, but what did the good olde St. Caputi’s employee do he let me know of a local store that still had some in stock. If that doesn’t exemplify dedication and customer compassion I don’t know what does!
A store like no other Caputi’s is a cut above the rest, the personal attention you receive is second to none. Whether it’s Nick, Scotty or Vinny or Mr. Caputi himself you are greeted with open arms and a friendly face. Each staff member is as astute to the customer’s needs as they are wise in the ways of each elixir they sell. The top notch care and service make you want to ask for help. Each time they have recommended a one of their favorites it blew my expectations out of the water!!!

Read moreAs I sit down to pen the following appraisal it dawns on myself, that true greatness cannot be measured in mere stars and words. I clutch a small glass of bourbon whiskey and contemplate the sheer magnitude that the word itself encompasses. Greatness. Far be it from me to try and express this here, but I ask that you just sit back, take a minute, and bask in that word a moment. I will endeavor to try and put my feelings into words:
The store itself may be deceiving from the outside, but they pack a very many bottles and a colossal selection of wines and liquors into this little store. Easily one of the best whiskey selections in town. The staff is very attentive and knowledgable while maintaining an appropriate level of sex appeal that is very welcoming. A locally owned family business that really cares. I make it one of my regular stops when looking for any type of wine or spirit.
I would be remiss without mentioning that they also organize whiskey tastings monthly; held at Caputi's Sheridan Pub right down the street. Vendors provide samples depending on the theme of the night and provide a great group atmosphere to try new and interesting whiskies while congregating with other whiskey fans in a friendly group setting.
My official rating is 4.8 stars out of 5. Can you lose 0.2 of a star for being too awesome? Yes, apparently the answer is yes.

Read moreHad a decent selection, but they price gouged most things. Manager also hanged prices at the register without telling me...for example, after having a conversation with him, and him suggesting some deals for certain bourbons I said, "well, if I'm going to spend in the 100$ range I would buy the Elijah Craig bottle barrel proof over there that is priced at $89", after having him bring it up to the register, I go to pay and he marked it up from the shelf price of $89 to $100 without me realizing until I had already paid. Taking the receipt I said, there was a mistake because its price tag was $89 not $100. He said, no theres no mistake its 100$ ($108 total). So just beware, this liquor store was not forthright about their sales prices, and marked most things up quite a...
