L.L.Bean — Local services in Town of Amherst

BEWARE: Poor quality, breaking, fraying, twine lacing is evident in $100 wicked good slippers are less than 1 year old. The evidence of poor reviews for the same issue speaks for itself on their own website reviews, yet LLBean WILL NOT exchange, refund, or replace their defective slippers once they have your money; customer service literally passed the buck to 5 different reps as I respectfully requested replacement of my defective slippers. These slippers had almost 5k reviews and 10% of the poor reviews were for fraying, breaking twine lacing that did not last one year. Obviously there is a defect problem with the same poor review/problem with lack of quality in submitted reviews. It's like bait and switch: The Bait is the LLBean name standing for quality/guarantee has Switched to inferior products sold at premium prices they they don't stand behind their guarantee. LL Bean is not worth the gas. My wife needed a new winter jacket. We thought we would give this new store a try. We have always enjoyed the quality that they offer in their apparel. The store when we walked in was clean but not a eye opener. We thought the store would have more to offer and seem to choose not to offer many choices for plus size people. My wife and I are both XL in some clothing might be XXL. We found no jackets at XL for her or me. Racks was full of XS, Sm. Med and Large. I guess once you get to be XL you are a shamed customer. It wasn't just coats I looked on the racks for sweaters and so forth very little to offer for a larger frame. I did find a few XL items but in a store like yours there should be a equal choice to the public. Very disappointed. I love this store and so does my wife. They always have suitable and stylish (for me) clothing.

The other week my wife bought me several shirts, pants and a warm pullover. I had to bring two items back (I needed an extra X in size). I was helped by a delightful and knowledgeable salesperson who found everything I needed. The best part of the story is that when I got to the counter I was given a $10 off card that I could use immediately and qualified for their 10% off sale. I ended up saving $30. So I received excellent service and got additional benefits.
