Just informed that this location is under new management and/or ownership. That change simply means terrible attitudes and poor customer service! I can't speak on the quality of their work, though. The prior ownership took pride in their work and honored their warranties, and the staff was friendly.
The person working today (Sunday) claimed to be the new owner. From the start, I should have known that he wasn't trying to fix my phone. The work performed by prior ownership is covered under a 180-day warranty. But after realizing that my phone was repaired over 30 days ago, he said that my phone falls under the "special order" warranty of only 30 days and therefore not covered. We had a brief argument about that because this was not told to me when I made the initial purchase.
Clearly, knowing he was in the wrong and seeing that his scam wouldn't work, he agreed to "diagnose" the issue anyway. But of course, he "found" physical damage to try and knock it out of the regular warranty coverage. When I returned to discuss his "diagnosis", he shows me a scratch so tiny that he kept saying that I may not be able to see it at the wrong angle. I know that scratch wasn't there before, so I was annoyed that I didn't stay to oversee his work. But, I obviously didn't know it was necessary as the prior ownership was so great and trustworthy. At this point in the ordeal, I still don't know the place is under new ownership.
My loss on the scratch. Regardless, I wanted to know how this tiny scratch on the glass damaged the internal display tech. I foolishly asked a very simple question: did you open the device to actually diagnose the problem? That's when he went from bland rudeness to blatant jerk. Silly me wanted to know what was wrong with the phone and why the screen I paid them to fix a month ago stopped working, tiny scratch or not.
We had maybe a 10-minute argument (with him raising his voice, but saying that's just how he talks (so, rude yelling is all he's got)) because he wouldn't answer the question. That's when I found out that he's the new owner. In sum, I am the idiot who doesn't understand anything about cellphones because he's fixed "a thousand phones before", so I need to understand that he doesn't "have to" open the phone to access the damaged tech in order to diagnose it. He just magically knows everything about all phones without actually doing anything to assess any damage and can tell you with absolute certainty that if you return to him under warranty, your phone is definitely not covered.
So, as he suggested, get insurance (literally received a lecture about phone insurance in place of discussing his warranty obligations) and I recommend you don't bring your phone here to be fixed because, quality of the work aside (again, my phone was fixed under prior ownership), this new ownership doesn't honor its warranty and will not even diagnose your phone. Always sad when management/ownership changes for the worse, but...
Read moreThe phone battery on my iPhone 7 started to drain super quickly and I was unable to charge the phone due to something being wrong with the charging port. I called around 11am and asked if I could come in and get it fixed same day. The guy over the phone was super nice and told me he was ready for me and had a part available! I got there within 15m and the guy took a quick look at it and explained to me what he needed to do, he said it will be ready in an hour to come back. I came back an hour later and it was all fixed, new battery, new charging port and even charged the phone for a little when he was done working on it! It was at 70% battery!!! GREAT service honestly! I ended up going to ubreakifix in Deer Park earlier that morning and good thing I changed my mind and left, they were asking for $100 on just the charging port itself. I told the guy at ifixscreens they were asking for that kind of money and he was honestly shocked. For the new charging port AND a new battery ifixscreens charged me $95 before tax WITH 6 MONTH WARRANTY! A way better deal, super quick service and super friendly owner. Highly recommend going...
Read moreI thought I had to go and buy a brand new phone because the screen on my Iphone had big, black blotches on it after I dropped it. I went to IFixScreens and was immediately greeted by Ben who explained it was a pretty simple fix and at a reasonable price. He was very informative and pleasant to deal with. Gary did the work on my phone and he did an excellent job! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Outstanding service from the very knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend these guys and they don’t just fix phones! Give...
