WHY I WILL NEVER SHOP AT BLUMS AGAIN: Patchogue has become a noisy pub crawl with bars and questionable street folk. Yuck, a big deterrent, especially when you have to PAY for parking. "Oh, it's free in the back" said the inattentive dressing room attendant, but did I know that? Would you want to take that chance in this shifty urban element? After finding a spot, there was only one meter on the whole stretch of the sidewalk. Yes, it's not Blums fault, but this element adds to the harried experience. If you're going after work, be prepared to feel rushed since Blums closes at 6 pm weeknights. They're open Saturdays, but who wants to blow a Saturday to drive to Patchogue after working all week. So the bottom line here is after finding a swimsuit, which cost 200+ bucks....I was surprised to see a big red stamp on my receipt stating FINAL SALE. Talk about insulting. This was not a clearance item, nor was it cheap! I did not see any signs, nor was I told at the register that my purchase was non-refundable. The store is teeming with merchandise, so if you have ADHD you'll probably miss the FINAL SALE signs the perky blond at the register told me apparently existed throughout the store. I did not see a one. But then again, I am only human. I didn't think to thoroughly inspect my purchase for imperfections beforehand, (yikes my parking meter was running out and they were closing it 20 minutes) so if there's something wrong with it, I can't bring it back. Oh, and I earned 2 points towards my next purchase. Take your 2 points and stick it. This was NOT a pleasurable experience. Blum's, you can do better. At point of purchase, verbally remind the buyer that its final sale, because after that its a done deal. 200 bucks and...
Read moreI had a vacation coming up and was in desperate need of a new suit since becoming a mom. I met Elaina (I hope I spelled it right!) and told her my concern. Having a larger chest but needing smaller bottoms, I have a hard time finding suits and thought a one piece was needed for my new mom pouch (which Iâm proud of, but wanted covered lol). Elaina asked my usual sizing and suggested a top with high waisted bottoms, which I never thought I could pull off. Turns out this is exactly what I needed. I have never felt more secure and comfortable in a bathing suit in my life. Especially for the top, she knew exactly what to offer me, thicker straps, easy adjustments, not a halter that will kill my neck. Elaina spent as much time as I needed helping me and I will be back again to get some new bras too! It is expensive but for womenâs intimates, itâs worth it to me because I have such a hard time and there is never my size in store. At Blumâs, they have many sizes for us larger chested women to try on. The expertise was unmatched from Elaina and I look forward to working with...
Read moreMy first visit at blums was amazing! Great customer service. On my second visit to blums the customer service was still great although maybe the sales associates shouldnât guess sizes or make comments on customers bodies. Before having probably 30 swimsuits thrown at me, the sales associate asked what size I was. Before i could answer she asked âa 16?â While I am a curvy women at a size 12 and support all women and think they are beautiful no matter what shape or size, I have body image issues and when someone guesses your size and says youâre bigger than you actually are, it sucks. Although i was willing to brush it off until another sales associate came into help when the bikini tops werenât fitting right. She said I know your problem âyour too broad and it doesnât match what you have in the cup department.â After that I walked around the store wondering if i should give this place my money because I did like the swimsuits. Although in the end I put them all back because I wasnât going to spend my hard earned money at a place that caused harm to...
