Fame and Rebel — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

Inconvient. I try and shop local but return policies at these small business shops are hard to work with. I bought a sweater in January, which I understand was awhile ago, but I only wore the sweater this past week for the first time. I followed the washing instructions and I didn’t put it in the dryer. I hung it up, and it’s destroyed. The seam is unraveling, I can’t even sew or wear it. I go to the store and the sales lady says,”I don’t know what the owner would do, come back tomorrow” ( a little odd that she couldn’t make a decision) “she’ll be here.” I went back the next day, the owner’s not there but a very sweet sales girl was, but she ended up having to call the owner. The Owner says they can’t do anything because it’s been over seven days... I had the receipt! What if I had bought a summery top in the winter? I wouldn’t have worn it in seven days... Frustrating situation, I had a cute denim jacket in my hand that I would’ve bought if they had given me some store credit for the damaged sweater. I’ll stick to shopping at Kate & Hale...

I felt compelled to reply to the below comment by Chelsea since I was standing in line behind her when she was trying to return the shirt she mentioned. The sales woman was above and beyond kind the entire time. The shirt was Heavily reeking of perfume. So much so that I could smell it a few feet away. And it was far from a “smudge” on the front of the shirt. The entire corner had several large brown stains on it, that clearly could not have been missed upon her purchase of it! In my opinion it’s pretty tasteless to try and return something to a small business boutique and try and make them eat the cost of an item you clearly damaged and possibly wore They were more than kind to you and I clearly remember you saying “it’s okay I understand if I can’t return it. I’ll try and wash it” And then to go on Google and leave a bad review is pretty tasteless I have been shopping at this Boutique for a long time. The staff has always been amazing, helpful and friendly. They are no doubt one of the Best boutiques on LI! I truthfully look forward to...

Cute clothing, but the hospitality and customer service at this boutique was AWFUL. Felt awkward and uncomfortable being in this place. I have never left a review ever in my life, but I needed to for yesterdays experience. Not once was I asked if I needed help, was given an attitude by whoever was closing last night which seemed to be the only person there, that’s fine! But attitude? Because I needed a fitting room… even more so an attitude when I asked where do I leave the remaining clothes I’m not taken.. not a goodbye or a thank you!
