We were here for a rehearsal dinner, and there were several issues that I could not overlook:
They didn't provide enough staff for the event. I had to ask several times for my drink to be refreshed. The bread had some strange cheese butter concoction that didn't taste good (I like strange and different foods). When we asked for plain bread with butter, it took quite a while and a second request, and by then, the food was coming out. My meal, a red sauce pasta with goat cheese, was decent, but not great. The floor for the main dining room had a distinct slope to it and would be a problem for some people with vertigo. It was visible when sitting down and could be confirmed by looking at any water glass. There was no handicap parking, which was a problem for some of the guests. There wasn't enough seating for everyone. We had to take chairs from other locations to fit the entire group. All pasta was cooked past al dente. My sons pasta was so overcooked it was falling apart trying to get it on the fork.
Edit: This review was updated to clarify things after a rude and unnecessary response by the restaurant. Essentially, the table I was at received a different level of service than the hosts' table.
Additional info: When things are "out of your control," there are always solutions.
Lobby the city to provide handicap parking on roads at appropriate intervals to ensure easy access to businesses. If you own the building, you bring I'm a structural engineer and have it fixed. If you don't own the building, negotiate with your landlord and withhold rent until the issue is...
Read moreOur First time back in a few years . Under new ownership for a couple of years now and noticeably better. We arrived Around 1pm on a sunny August Sunday. Town was hopping and so was Pasta Pasta . Really I would give it 4.5-4.75 stars if such a rating was available.
We were seated immediately upon arrival and offered indoor or outdoor. Water was offered immediately and several menus as well. I like that lunch and / or brunch is offered simultaneously on Sunday as well as specials . We Ordered a glass of Wine And a Peroni. Both arrived well chilled and beer was served with a chilled glass. A+
Bread was served warm and delicious sliced with a flavorful spread between slices. Perfection, and comfort .
We decided on lunch and tried the meat lovers pizza and Rigatoni a la vodka. Both entrees exceeded my expectations compared to our last visit under prior ownership . I was impressed with the pizza crust, which was crisp tender and had a soft tender texture at the same time. Keep that recipe - maybe get a dough recipe patent . Pizza toppings were plentiful. Rigatoni a la vodka was also very good with perfectly cooked pasta and a delicious sauce loaded with proscuitto ham and perfectly coated the pasta .
A bit more attentive service would have resulted in another round of drinks for sure, perhaps dessert or coffee and 5 stars, but overall service was friendly and efficient just not a lot of contact with our table .The restaurant was busy so I get it. We WILL be back as overall food and service has improved here since the Management took over. Thanks for...
Read moreI’ve been traveling by Ferry and by boat for most of my life and I’m ashamed that I never tried this place until now. This past Saturday 7/20/19. My girl and I had the pleasure of deciding to try something new. I’m a creature of habit so breaking off the beaten path especially on a 105 degree day wasn’t my idea of fun but what the heck we tried This place anyways. Upon entry with no reservations on a Saturday night we were told about an hour wait by the host (either Tony or Anthony I believe). Well I don’t like waiting but you know something it wasn’t bad at all. The host got us drinks and we were able to sit comfortably in the waiting area. The wait was exactly one hour but it didn’t feel like it at all. We probably had two rounds of drinks. Dinner was great with the rigatoni ala vodka and cheese ravioli parmigiana. Even the table served bread had a surprise in store. For A busy night during the busy season service was quick everything came out to perfection. Sometimes moving away from my tried a true gives me a new place to add to the list. Pasta Pasta we will be back. Dinner was half the cost of what we had spent just the previous evening at another restaurant, so anyone complaining about costs should try some other places in PJ. Pasta Pasta is in line with everyone else. We shall see you before the end of the boating season our...
