I don't even know where to begin. I was driving through the state and my car broke down and was towed to Kia of West Nyack. The service department was the worst service department I have ever dealt with. Ron was difficult to get in touch with did not return calls when he said that he would, nor did he have any answers when we did actually speak over the phone. With all that being said the service department was zero help whatsoever. I needed a new engine and I had to find a used one in Wisconsin on my own. Kia of West Nyack swapped the engines for me but would not put the old engine on a pallet and secure it so I could ship it and get a $400 refund. When I drove the two and a half hours to finally pick up the car one month later Ron knew that I was coming yet was not prepared with all the paperwork. The paperwork did not have any reason as to why the engine broke down so he texted somebody and then copied that down onto the report. When we left Kia of West Nyack driving home for 2 and 1/2 hours I could smell a burning odor at a light. So I pull over the radiator is smoking I look at the reservoir tank it's empty. My wife and I then have to leave the car go find antifreeze and wait for the engine to cool down. Continuing on our way I clean the windshield only to then have the low windshield wiper fluid light go on. Finally we get home I pop the hood again only to find that there is no windshield wiper fluid in that tank either. So then I think I need to check the oil because I don't trust Kia of West Nyack at all. Only problem is they did not put the dip stick in the engine. I seriously cannot make this up I would never trust Kia of West Nyack to work on my car ever. You have been warned.
UPDATE: Due to the service department serious neglect, my new engine failed in less than a week. I called Ron and believe it or not, he was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, this was a hugely frustrating experience - partly due to the dealer and partly due to the manufacturer. The EMC failed in my new Kia Sportage and it took five weeks to replace. Apparently the parts weren't available, which isn't the dealer's fault. Having said that, the communications from this dealer were poor, at best. They use a call center in Kentucky (they're in Nyack, NY) and it seemed like the call center had no clue what was going on in Nyack, even though they answered questions as though they did. Case in point: there was a loaner car that became available to me and I was supposed to pick it up on a Monday. I called, to make sure before making the trip, and was told, definitively, that no loaner as available. Not true. They had a loaner. Got it the next day, at some inconvenience, as I'd set my schedule to get it the day before. Secondly, I was told that my toll charges would likely be reversed as it had been such a long time to get my car repaired. When I contacted them to ask about that, I was referred to Kia Corporate, which is a nightmare to deal with. I have the car now, and since its repair, my mileage is half of what it was before. I'm told it's the cold weather. Conclusion: Don't buy a Kia. Get a mainstream car from Honda,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBought a $30k car with plugs in tires. Got flats from those plugs shortly after. Went to get an oil change (40 min drive one way) they said my brakes were low and ned to be changed. Car had 13k miles when i got it. 7k miles later they quote me at $800 per axle. Bonkers!!! I go to another dealership 7k miles later for an oil change that dealership says my brakes grew!!! Unreal....come back to Nyack for an inspection and they refused to do it because my brake fluid wasn't at "max" (its wasn't below min. It was in between) Never heard of this in my life. I asked how we get this inspection done that was suppose to be free, they said they need to conduct a brake flush service at $199. I said no thanks. Took it do an actual mechanic. Complete non sense and got my inspection done. So 1. I will only go to nyack for my oil change because I pay for an extended warranty and its cheaper 2. I have to contact my warranty and try to get reimbursed for craps tires that blew out twice.
Dealerships are scam artists that don't care about us and try to soak every dime they can and upcharge the hell out of us.
Btw my brakes will get done at 35-40k miles for $500 for rear and not almost $1k. Thanks...
